I have a 2008 Roketa scooter 250cc, had ongoing problems with stalling, its been running great, replaced most of the vacuum line, which made a big difference, my problem now is when on a long climb it will act like its starving for gas, then stalls, not all the time, just now and then. what could it be?

How many miles on her Richard? Have you adjusted the valves? My wifes is starting to show the signs at 2800 miles and sometimes this is a classic symptom. When the exhaust valve gets too tight then the scooter can and will act like you mentioned along with loss of MPG and power and stalling at every stop.

What kind of fuel filter did you install? Some filters have been known to collapse internally which can partially block the flow of gas.

Did you clean the air filter also?

My first thought is improper fuel level. However, if that's the case, a long highway ride with an eventual power loss or stalling, would reveal too low fuel level. If the level is too high, it causes a loading up, too rich. Also an improper fuel filter can restrict the amount of fuel needed to run properly, hence the highway ride will also reveal. You also don't mention if you live in higher altitude (colorado) or if the hills you describe are similar to San Fran. Strangely enough, something simple as a loose plugcap can cause this situation also.

I'm thinking your right, I think it is in the carb, I wonder if a float sticks, would it act the same way? or I just replaced spark plug cap, and put new vacuum lines on, we have hills, I live in Vintondale pa.

I have a linhai 300 and found that on WOT for long periods of time or going uphill over about 1/2 mile I would lose power and decelerate to the point where I would pull off and have to wait a few seconds before starting out again. An electric fuel pump put in by my dealer resolved the issue. I hope this helps!

I know they are good pumps actually have one on an old 14HP B&S twin on a lawn mower a 1988 model still running but I haven't seen anyone use one on a scooter? I couldn't say but I do know the Mikuni does great.
