For all newbies like me who have the MC-54-250B Roketa: after my ride yesterday I didn't hook up the battery tender as I usually do, and once again this morning the battery was nearly dead. Only thing that should have been drawing power is the clock and alarm/remote start system, so be warned. Either put it on a tender any time it's going to be parked for more than an hour or so, OR do what I did and put a toggle switch in the small red wire off the battery, that feeds all the gauges and whatnot, and use it to take the battery completely off-line when you're not near your tender. That means you have to reset the clock afterward, but that's a lot less hassle than recharging the battery or jumping the scoot. Grrrrr....

The clock and date do not take much juice it is the REMOTE and ALARM that suck the battery dry. Many just unplug the the Alarm and Remote but if you do want them to be functional Ellpee's suggestion is the way to go. You may go someplace visiting or shopping and you park it for several hours and of course there is no place to plug in to charge your battery. So when you come back out carrying all the goodies your dead in the water. Alleyoop

I have the mc-54-250b, I currently have some electric problems, but usually my scoot even without the battery tender, it always starts good and doesn't go dead

Seems like you got a shorted out battery,or a bad charging system--you can check it with a simple volt meter--put the volt meter on the battery with it running--you should have near 14 volts running --turn the engine off and see how much the voltage drops--if it shows about 14 volts running ,it should not drop below 12 volts not running--if it does drop below 12 volts,the battery is bad--and if you have been running it down flat it probably is bad..good luck and good riding,fflintstone

My 250 Roketa will sit about 3 weeks before it gets hard to start so I usually take the battery off and take in the house and put a charger on it intermittently if I am not riding for a few weeks--I keep an eye on the battery voltage and when it drops to about 12 volts I hook up my trickle charger and juice it up again-ummm---I don't have a regular trickle charger so I use my old CB powersupply,which puts out around 14.5 volts and 3 to 4 amps current--works just fine for motorcycle batteries..cheers,fflintstone

Start with a good battery, remove the alarm thingy and get you a battery tender brand charger with the quick disconnect fittings. After you ride just pull the seat up and plug it in. Used to have this problem with mine but then replaced the cheapo battery with a Yuasa. Good luck.

I've got the tender and use it all the time when the scoot's here at home; my OEM battery was a Yuasa. When I'm away and have to park it for more than 20-30 minutes, I installed a total cutoff toggle switch, as I don't want to completely disable my remote stuff.
