Sea foam is pale oil, naphtha, isopropyl alcohol and water. It's mostly oil I think, so overuse or overdosing the fuel might, at worst, foul your spark plug a bit. As it washes down your cylinder walls, it also breaks up carbon deposits on your compression rings. Some of those deposits are beneficial to maintaining good compression. So overdosing may not be wise. The benefits are top cylinder lubrication and fuel drying/stabilizing. If you know the fuel you're buying is poor quality, then the safe bet is to use the smallest amount per tank that keeps your bike running well. Alternatively, check pure-gas.org/ for a list of stations in your area that sell non-ethanol fuel. that's made more difference in our bikes than any additive can, ie why band aid a problem when you can just eliminate it.

As for ethanol 'bad gas' we have had a lot of problems with it in the last 6 months in our area. Signs on the pumps still say 10% but every thing from scoots, motorcyclers, boat motors to lawn mowers have had the carb jets clogged from it. When you go into the scooter carb you will find a jelly like substance in the carb bowl. I store my scoot gas at home and treat it with 2 oz Sta-Bil ethanol treatment per 5 gallons. So far it is doing the job and the scoots are running well. We use it year round. When the 15% ethanol becomes the norm cars, bikes, all small motors will have some real problems. I agree that ethanol free gas is the better answer but it is very hard to find in our area.

well see thats the thing the only place that sells non ethanol gas is 2 hours away. and without other transport to go get 2-5 gal cans of gas would be hard to do on Chrissy--lol
the other 2 reasons i use it year round is sweating in the tank--in the summer and condensation in the winter.
i should change the way i fill up also,,,, i guess now i go 6 blocks fill up, then go about my biz. then when done , go home i guess i should fill up before i go home, also that way the tank isnt 1/2 or 3/4 of the way empty and have to sit like that till i ride again . Which since its so cold now , that may be a week or so.
thanks for info

Another area that is important is to keep the gas tank full, especially now because of winter so the inside of the tank doesn't rust (big problem).
