Hi! Im college student from Southern California, this past summer my dad bought me a scooter to get around while at school. This past week the battery died on me, i thought it just needed to be recharged, but the person that helped charged it and checked it and I needed a new battery. I replaced the old one and fully charged the new battery, now my scooter doesn't start at all. I checked all of the fuses, but they were all good. Any suggestions? I really need this thing up and running again.

Welcome to the forum. Does anything at all happen when you try to start your scoot? If the kill switch is activated, both the starter and the engine will not turn. If the engine turns over, but does not start, then you could have a fuel delivery or ignition problem. Give a little more info and we should be able to get to the cause of your problem.

Welcome....check the fuse on the positive cable on the battery...and all other fuses and replace with american fuses available at any auto parts store..check the negative cable on the battery (ground) also....enjoy your ride...not sure what kind of scoot you have...that would be some great info to have...

If your scoot has this fuse box, check those connections under the fuse box, I've heard guys having trouble with loose connections Attachments:

We really need to know which engine you have the vertical 244cc or the horizontal 257cc engine.
Your situation sounds like the linhai horizontal and if this is the case then you have a main 20A fuse on the starter relay, if it's bad then totally dead scooter.
But if you have the 244 vertical then you have a fuse box with 4 fuses and a 15A fuse feeding the fuse box from the battery, if this fuse is bad again totally dead scooter.
Also as all will tell you Chinese fuses may look good but be bad, need to either replace with good fuses or use a ohm meter to verify it's good.
Also the vertical engine with the fuse box is nortorious for bad wire connections and bad socket connections on the fuses, so you mmay need to pull the fuse box and inspect for just these things. When you turn the key on it gets power from the battery and then sends it down the line to all of the scooter functions and if the main fuse on either model is blown then the scooter is dead.
On the linhai horizontal engine there are only two fuses a 20A again on the starter relay and a 15A by the batery.
Since you put a new battery on it's easy to disturb a bad connection that was just waiting for such to happen and as stated check the ground cable all the way to where it hooks up to the frame for a good clean connection also.
Welcome to the forum and let us know how we can help.

Yep, sure sounds like your main fuse is blown if nothing comes on with the key On. Now did you by any chance change out the battery and reveresed the connections? They ususally will not just blow like that so what if anything where you connecting on the scoot? Alleyoop

Hello, I had a similar problem earlier this month and I was able to turn the key in the ignition and jump my scooter at the solenoid. After all the help from this forum and many hours it was my main fuse. It looks good while looking at it but a testing light showed it was bad. i replaced it and all was good. I have the 2012 Jonway 250cc yy250t 54b. Not sure if its the same but hope it helps. ALSO from experience with other cars, after charging your battery you should get it tested to see if the battery is good. I have purchased batteries in the past that were defective to begin with. Try putting a voltmeter to your battery to see the voltage output.

I feel really, really, REALLY dumb...When fastening my battering back on, i put the 15A fuse leading up to the battery onto the negative polarity. Scooter turned right on after I fixed that... I am an idiot! Thanks for all the advice guys. Ill be riding again really soon! I replaced all of the fuses just in case as well
