Well guys I got my new cast on the foot yesterday and will have it on until the end of Janurary then rehab of the old foot. Doc said the heel looked good, took the 10 staples out of it and then the new fiberglass cast went on. Do you know you can choose the color of your cast now! My granddaughter chose purple! So purple it was! Now mama is a full time nurse and with no seniority she had to work today! Yuk! So all the kids went to my sister-in-laws for turkey day and I've got the wheelchair and crutches loaded and going to go get in line for a X-Box 360 at Walmart on this black Friday that actually starts tonight at 8 p.m. My grandson wants one for Christmas and they are half priced! Sure hope a brawll doesn't start, might have to use the crutch as a weapon! You guys wish me luck! JR

I survived it! Got the XBox and they had 38 of them but man they were gone in a flash! I was the first person in line and so I went over to check out the 24" TV's that were going at 10:00 p.m and I was barely on time, they had 49 of them and my ticket was 47!
But I was disappointed on the Cannon camera, as John said they only had two.
Took snacks, sodas, tylenol for the pain and got one of the electric shopping carts and I was good to go but I'm pooped now for sure.
Worth it all for those kids.

Thanks guys for the compliments and I got the camera! Learned something else about this black Friday thing of Walmart.
OK I had 3 items I wanted badly, the Xbox 360, the 24" flat screen TV and the special camera package, got the first two by waiting in a line, first the Xbox and they had 38 of those gone in 5 minutes with people lined up behind the first 38. On these kind of special items they have so many and they about 1 hour before the sale time begins hand out numbered tickets, if you are lucky enough to be in line at a number of what they have you get one.
The Xbox sale along with other things started at 8 p.m. After I got my Xbox I hurried to the 24" TV line and found out they had 49 TV's and I was number 47, just in time! This sale started at 10 p.m. so I had to wait in line for about 2 more hours.
The cameras also started at 10 p.m. and they only had two, so I missed that sale. Friday I got on the phone with Walmart customer service to ask if they could run a locate on the special camera to see if any store they had close by may have not sold their allotment of cameras. The Black Friday sale was in stages and didn't officially end until 6 pm. on Friday evening so if you could locate one in another store it would still be on this sale.
The lady on the phone told me to go online at Walmart and the same exact camera was on sale the same as these stores! She was right! Exact same camera and get this, FREE SHIPPING TO MY FRONT DOOR! It will be here next week on the 27th!
The heck with fighting these lines anymore!

I have been searching and ordering from the Wal Mart web for a couple years now. I have another item ready to order but will have to wait till I get some doctor stuff taken care of first. Often find that there are so many more items to choose from when browsing the web and the stores available stock keeps changing too.
I have my orders delivered to the store. They call me when it arrives and I have a time period, days, to make the pickup. I go as soon as I get called. But for me the store is only 2 miles away and I don't have to worry about a package on my porch if not home when delivered.
I go to the stores, see what is available and pricing, then cross check on the web for alternative items and pricing. Never go to the stores if there is a sale mob expected.
Once upon a time I worked at WalMart. I have had to work in those mob scenes. Never shop in one of those mobs. First as a clerk in a department but then moved to the door as a greeter and theft prevention. Back then we would often have the police come to pickup a person. I think these days they have really relaxed those theft prevention rules. Some stores have actually ended having greeters in the doorways. I felt like WalMart was a fair employer as I was already retired and half days was OK by me. I was hired at minimum wage and would periodically get a raise. So no complaints. .
