Hey Guy's & Gal's, Since I changed front bears (now) my speedometer is off, did I do something wrong? I'm like going 75-80mph and cars are passing me Attachments:

Maybe they are going 85-90. But seriousely are you really going that fast or is it going much slower than the indicated speed?? Did you put the speedo gear in correct and the cable in correct on the wheel? That is the only thing that would effect the speedo. Alleyoop

Alley, I notice when changing oil today that both tires were over inflated about 7lbs each they were 41 lbs each. I think that speedo gear only goes in one way.

Well over inflated tires would actually give you more speed NOT LESS. Alleyoop

Would it affect the speedo gear? I'll have to take a ride and see if there is any difference since took air down to 33lbs a tire.

Yes, you are correct it would effect the registering of the actual speed, BUT think about it, with overely inflated tires actual speed would register LESS because the tire now has a bigger diameter, just like in a car. If you stick on larger tires and or rims your mph would register lower and you could get a ticket(HAHA). Alleyoop

Heck, 80mph indicated on my speedo is like 65mph actual, so I'm not surprised if people were passing you (especially if you were on the freeway.)

Silly question, but at idle, the speed shows 0mph correct? If it shows 15-20mph, it's just a matter of alignment. I know that's reaching, but the rest is supposed to be foolproof, a couple of gears and a cable.
Edit: Nevermind, I just went back and looked again at your pic. Well, worth a guess anyway. Maybe it needs a couple drops of oil.
