OK guys here's number 8!!! She was born yesterday at 11:53 a.m. and is about 15 minutes old in this photo and got the "OK it's time to eat look on her face. " She weighed 6 lbs. - 6 ounces and was 19" long. Please welcome Gloria Elizabeth Martin. Now on the surgery it's something that I've put off a long time but walking is getting almost unbearable. A few years back I had both knees replaced and knew this surgery would come someday too and it's here. I have a very large bone spur right on the back of my right heel right behind the Achilles tendon and when I say large I"m talking about the size of a medium hen egg. The procedure is very delicate and a long slow recovery too. They will cut the tendon loose and chip the bone spur off then re-attach the tendon. 2 weeks in a splint to let the swelling leave then 6 to 8 weeks in a full cast. Foot must not move nor touch the ground. That's why I'm doing it in the winter and hoping to be doing the re-hab and back on my feet by this spring. Surgery date is Nov. 08. So I'll have plenty of adding to and putting up information time on the forum for sure! JR

JR, you are gaining on me!!! She is beautiful, takes after your wifes side of the family, right? I am avoiding the knee bit. Osteo arthritus in both knees. Good and bad days. Wear braces when needed. Have an L5 permanatly out of place, causes neuropathy in my loweer legs. We sound like a couple of old guys talking about our ailments. Get tha bone spur out, follow Drs orde4rs and you will be kicking a#@ in no time. You are on my prayer list.

Let me the first to say "CONGRATS" JR!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D She certainly is a little G. E. M. Is this one of your Texas babes? Sorry about the surgery but glad your going to finally be able to get around without all that pain. Besides, you need to take a break from gardening and do a little admin work or it will just pile up on you. Hay, does this mean the next scoot in JR's future will be a RASCAL? Best of luck and heal well JR! M/C Damn, I need to type faster. Even the old dog beat me to it!

JR - congrats! Wow you've got the makings for a huge T-giving dinner! Good luck with the surgery my friend. Winter's a bummer to be hurting but you'll be back in shape for spring riding, fishing and planting. We'll be thinking of ya!
