Jumped the gun and reinstalled the body panels before the paint cured. I used some white cotton gloves to keep from leaving permanent finger prints in the paint: Original factory paint: New paint job; I left the 'trunk' off this time. The green flames are vinyl decals I ordered from eDecals.com.

Ok OK I'm next!! When you coming? Got plenty of produce to keep you full and happy! Picked green beans today and almost got all my taters dug! New taters and green beans tonight!
Awesome job tankrider! Will let everyone drool awhile and then move to the picture section for future people to look at.

Very very nice. I have to say though, I was diggin' the original paint color. When I first opened the thread I though that was the new paint job haha
What kind of paint did you say you used? That looks just like the factory shine.

What kind of paint did you say you used? That looks just like the factory shine. I used Krylon Fusion "rattle cans". Four coats of color then four coats of clearcoat. Added the decals then two more coats of clearcoat. With the Fusion paint if you wait more than four hours in between coats then you need to wait 24hrs. I waited about ten minutes in between then let the base color dry 24hrs before I sprayed the clear.

I didn't sand clear down to bare plastic. I sanded the clear coat off with 320 grit and sanded the green with 640 grit to take the shine off. Then wiped it down with a tack cloth and it's as smooth as the factory paint.
