Hi guys, Havent had a chance to get pictures between work and all the rain we are getting here now but hopefully soon. Fairweasel, I cant say for sure but from the looks of the bike next to your name it looks to be identical. But in much better shape than mine. New development in the bike of a thousand mysteries! Forgot to mention, while this was all going on I had no headlight or taillights. I could however flash the high beams by hitting the passing switch although they would not stay on. I did , however, have break lights and turn signals. We finally tracked it down to a bad light switch and by jumping the connector we got my lights back. Now back to the new mystery. as you recall after plugging in the wire running to the RR the bike would no longer shut off with the key. Today I installed the new switch. Works fine and I have lights ,high and low, back. ALSO , the bike now shuts off with the key! Tested it several times to make sure and works every time. Now the bike is charging , everything is working as it should. Go figure Maybe now I can get back to the running hot problem.

I would still appreciate it if while you have it apart you verify the plugs/wire colors from the stator and then the wires/plugs on the R/R If you do indeed have a 5-pin R/R then for sure it's a odd ball and I mwant to di a diagram on it. On the Roketa site the Bali 250 lists a diagram and it's in Chinese yet I can decipher it just by knowing the wiring on a lot of scooters. It says 150 at the top yet the bali 150 only has a 4-pin R/R but this diagram indeed shows a 5-pin R/R. I've yet to see a 244cc CfMoto cloned enging with a 5-pinn R/R but who knows, you may have the first? The wire colors/plugs will tell me one way or another. JR

I have this exact scooter called the Tank Urban Touring 250. It has the vertical, 244cc Honda Clone engine. Mine has all the bells and whistles - stereo, remote start, alarm. I found a blog from 2006-2007 when these scoots were new. The reviewer had aquired the new (back then) scooter for test riding. He explained that these were originally sold as 150cc bikes. Around 2006, under the brand names Jonway, Tank, Sunny, Roketta, and many others, the design was altered to accommodate a 250cc engine/cvt setup. Back then the scooter world loved them because it was a powerful engine on a common and smaller frame. That these were originally 150cc bikes converted to 250cc may explain why you are finding variances in the equipment, wiring, etc. Attachments:
