A top 5 national title contending football team
dream job and 2.5 million dollar home
possibly never coaching again
his intregrity
trust from family and friends
respect from all


And for what? A 25 year old lady and an affair. Not the first time this has happened to someone and won't be the last but again:

Agree CC and this wasn't a comparision to that because IMO the Penn State thing was mishandled from the beginning especially for the most winning coach in college history goes.

But this one was clear cut, no guess work here, no crimes (at least so far) that we know. This was a man who brought all of this on himself and for what? Yea we know and that even adds to the shame of it all. He has already listed his home on the market and just imagine who will want the title of saying "hey Bobby Petrino lived here last?" Imagine what his wife and four kids are thinking right now?


IMO Jeff Long the AD at the school not only had no choice to fire him but did the right thing and stood up for the school and what was right even with boosters threatening to cut their ties and money from the school if he was fired. Funny thing as it stands from what I read these people weren't to quick to learn the facts first and not one booster has left.

But even the saddest thing is the kids on that team he let down, again possibly a national title contender this year, a recruiting class that was ranked in the top 5 all the elements of having a championship team. Now they sit and wonder what is going to happen next, will all the commitments stay? The Razorback quaterback was first team all SEC, the running back even though injured last year was all SEC and the SEC's leading rusher the year before, yes even ahead of the Heisman trophy winner from Alabama and is healed and returning. A offense that is unstoppable. They both could have entered the NFL draft and the quaterback Wilson is projected as a good NFL quaterback. They both said no to the NFL, why? Because of wanting to challenge for a national title and because of Petrino again very shameful and embarrassing for this state.

The publicity is so bad for them they mentioned in the paper yesterday they both had turned their cell phones off, weren't posting on the computer and were essentially hiding from the media, this shouldn't happen to a kid in college.

This was just more an affair, more than just a casusal fling, this hurt a lot of people and has caused a lot of pain and may have dashed a lot of young people's dreams.

I can't imagine how it could be worth it? Again I just don't understand?

If he isn't happy at home he should do the right thing and get a divorce - before he started the affair. Some men really do think with the wrong head. It gives men a bad reputution. A lot of men do have values and scruples and do not cheat. But someone who is famous and rich will most of the time think that they can get away with anything.
If he had divorced his wife, then been out in the open about his girl friend, including going over her qualifications for the Job (instead of her bedroom qualifications), the out come would have been much different. They might not have let him hire her but he would still have his job and his girlfriend. Yep, he was definitly stupid.

:(times have changed my friend and they are getting worse just do a little checking and youll find out hes not the only one he just the one that stepped into the crap and couldnt get it off him
hey look when you have ministers and priests molesting childern and the mother churches are protecting them and moving them around and the law cant do or wont do any thing
freeks molesting kids but have enough to pay off the parents and then we make idoles out of them
children being taken and killed right from their own front yards or homes

drugs going to get congress ok to sell

giving money to every other country for food while people in our own starve

so millionairs having yong men or women to play with really isnt that unusal is it
