Hello folks. I have a 250cc engine of what I believe was Q-Link commuter/honda helix clone. I have a cfmoto manual for the engine but it has didley about electrical. I'm trying to fit this thing to a kart I just bought, but engine needs a few parts for sure not to mention it's a lil to big for the kart . And I don't wanna put $$$ into it until I can get it to crank or somethin'. I've put power to it after I hooked up the wiring harness best I could but no lights or nothing. I did tap into the red wire and black wire on the ignition just to see if power was getting there. And I found 1.77v with the key on, but I don't know where to check for voltage or how much I was just curious. I've exhausted myself looking at wiring diagrams I don't understand and that probably don't even go to this scooter. I'd imagine it's the same setup as found in those hammerhead 250 buggys or the china made water cooled 250cc buggys. I want to be able to use this wiring harness cause it has a speedometer blinkers headlights brakes etc and I want to make it work on the kart but other than the obvious things I have no idea what plugs to what, what needs to be grounded there's even single wires with a connector on the end but nowhere to go. I really need some help worst case if someone knows how to bypass some of the electrical bs and try to crank it in a unorthodox fashion . Thanks for any help.

Also I have very good pics of this harness laid out and labeled. But for some reason I have no option to post pics here. I have the pics and some info posted in the diygokart forum, if anyone wants to take a look thread is titled the same. From reading online before I joined this forum, it seems ppl here are more knowledgeable regarding larger displacement engines. And since it came off a scooter I probably should've started here anyways. Hopefully someone can help! Thanks guys. Oh if anyone wants to tell me how to put pics I would appreciate it. Thanks

Hey thanks JR. I'll give a try here in a min. I'm glad you've taken notice in my dilemma, as I noticed from reading other threads, it seems you know a lot on the subject and just maybe able to help. Hope so thanks for the welcome. Now let's see if I can get pics up

Ok hopefully you guys can see those. All the orange and pink ones are two pin connectors. Orange are males pink are females. There is 5 of each. They are numbered. I don't know which connect where. All the blue and purple go together. They are 9 pin connectors. Purple is male, blue is female. There is 3 females and 2 males. Idk what goes where. I think I am missing ignition coil and fuel pump. Can someone Confirm? More info coming. Thanks

Bear with me plz I'm missing what ever goes on the end of the spark plug wire. I believe it is the ignition coil, and I believe it plugs into (?4).

(?1)I have no idea. It's a purplish wire. Maybe a ground wire? (?2)I think may go to a little orange wire on the brake lights. Little orange wire.

Ok next is these two green wires, (?3) I believe they are ground wires and get grounded to/with the r/r. Is the r/r supposed to be grounded? Also there was a relay I took off the handle bar area. What is it to? is it supposed to be grounded? Thanks

I don't believe I have ever seen someone lay out a wiring harness so completely as you have here. The first thing I want to ask is your plans? Plans as are you just wanting to hook up this so it'll run or are you planning on lights and such? I don't see any need for the speedometer and such. If you want a simple turn the key on and hit the start button then you don't even need 2/3 of this harness.

(?5) just curious what it is. From pics online I'm thinking it's the ignition pick up or something like that. Can anyone confirm? Thanks

JR Thank you sir, if that was a compliment I tried to organize it to help myself and to try and make it easier on anyone willing to help me. As far as plans, I would really like to keep everything pretty much, I think the spedo would be cool. I wanted to keep the lights blinkers and such so the kart can be street legal. The tires on this kart are an inch taller than on the scooter but I think the spedo can be calibrated, if not I was hoping when the time comes maybe one of you guys knows of a newer, nicer spedo that CAN be calibrated and will work with this system. Worst case scenario I would be willing to ditch the electrical extras. I did at the very least want to put off road lights though. But I would like to see it crank regardless. The engine seemed to have a bad oil leak, so new gaskets, air intake is cracked, like I said I think ignition coil is missing, not to mention I have to mod the kart a bit for it to fit. The parts I KNOW I need for the motor so far total less than $100, I'm excited to make it happen, but I've never personally seen this thing running. So I'd like to get everything on and the motor running for a couple min before I do anything. It's been sitting in my garage for a year. It was a friend of mines, it was a mess around scooter. It was pretty much just a seat, frame and engine. He complained of it stuttering (cracked intake) and didn't wanna try to fix it. Told me I could have it if I helped him take it off the frame so he could take it to the scrap yard. And it's been collecting dust in my garage till now. I finally have a reason to resurrect it sorry for rambling just thought if share a bit of my history with it in case anyone's interested

(?6)-(?7) two male three-pin connectors with nothing to plug into. I'm also missing a switch off one of the handlebar assemblies. I don't know what the switch was.

(?8) two female spade connectors, that I of course, don't know where they go. One is a green wire with yellow stripe, other is black with white stripe.(might be a gray stripe)

I have probably 2-3 more questions. Sorry. But I'll leave it at this for now: It took me a LONG time to figure out that this Thing here is a kickstand switch, and works as a kill switch, and you need to jump the wires on the harness side, so it thinks the kickstand is up. Problem is Everytime I've seen it done people are only having to jump two wires and my connector has three. Green w/white stripe, solid green, yellow w/black stripe. Any help solving any of this is appreciated. Thanks Everyone
