Did you have any trouble getting the gear off the shaft?
I had a heck of a time with mine.
Also, how was it putting the new seal in?

Ummmm. Hello? JR. Sprocket ? What? Did you guys evac from the hurricane? I'm used to quicker responses , aren't you on here 24/7? Allright , I decided to just go ahead and do it. Used the old snorkel and my new uni on the end. Took it for a ride, all seemed good, so I think I'll leave it

Here's another thought
(I am determined not to destroy this engine)
My scooter does not have a rear fender, so that UNI is right near the wheel. I imagine it sucks up a ton of dirt in that location. Also it seems that it would suck up hot air rather than cool.
I was thinking about using the old elbow tube from my stock airbox to extend the UNI out to the side of the engine, over the CVT.
Would this hurt performance? And am I right about the dangers of the current location?
I would rather lose a little performance if I could make it quieter and have the engine last

My 2 cents - Having had a few oil leaks.
I would be extra sure where the leak is coming from. I had a leak from the base of my cylinder, but it really looked like it was coming from the underside of the engine. The problem was, it was really just a slight sheen on the engine until it found somewhere to accumulate on, then a drip would form.
Same thing happened when I had a leak around the starter. That drip formed on the back underside
Really get your engine clean, then get a really really bright light. Turn it on, then watch carefully.
It would be a shame to remove the right side, only to find the leak is somewhere else.
P.S Before I cleaned it from both leaks there was oil everywhere, even up under the floorboards, so that is really no clue.

It's running like a top
So far I have done 3 30 minute sessions. Varied speed. Only up to about 40 miles on the odometer so far.
The 122 seems a tiny bit rich, as the exhaust has a slight gasoline smell. But I would rather run rich than lean.

Yikes! I took the car today. Using the odometer, that hill is 2 MILES LONG!I had no idea it was so long. I also checked out other routes. Sadly, in San Diego, there a no roads that don't have giant hills Guess I'll have to break it in good, and just baby it up my hill (let those bastards behind me honk all they want)

So far so good
Ran it around town for 30 minutes. Did not gun it off the line, up to 35 or 40 then slow down. Variety of speeds but nothing over 42 . (back roads so it was easy to slow down and get some engine braking.
Then let it cool down. (put 13 miles on it) The only oil was a little excess from the UNI Filter oil.
I'll keep it up. I'm trying to find an alternative route from work, so I don't have to go up the monster hill.
If I can't find one, I'll take Sprocket's advice and wait till I get 100 miles on it.
Thanks for the advice JR and Sprocket

It's ALIVE..... IT'S ALIVE!!!!New engine is in! Carb and all electrics hooked up. Basically just put it all back together. Put in all new fluids Charged the battery, and she fired right up Next step is to put the seat on, and begin the Motoman Break-in Now if can just not mess this one up (12,000 miles here I come) For $250 this is a nice way to get a fresh start. Day 2Make sure you get an engine whose brake system matches your original. better yet, it has the brakes installed already My new engine was set up for Disc brakes, not drum. I had to remove the "pegs" that hold the disk brakes on the new engine and replace them with the ones to hold drum brakes from my old engine. The only problem........ you have to remove the final gear cover and assembly to access the nut holding those on Time consuming, but not too difficult. At least it gave me a chance to finally see what is in there. So after 2 hours I'm back on track

Hello all
I have a prodigy clutch and bell. However the clutch pads are wearing out.
I don't see replacement pads for sale, just the entire assembly. What makes this clutch so special? I have brand new pads that came with my new engine. Would they be as good as those in the prodigy. could I swap them out?
What make this clutch so good? The pads, the springs, What?
Side Note: I also posted this on Scootdawg. I know there is some issues between the 2 forums.
Is anyone getting annoyed with seeing the same post from me on both forums? If so I will stop. If not, I figure it just doubles my chance of a good answer
