Thanks! It's been one HELL of a nightmare lately. I bought the thing new (1.9 miles on it) on March 1st from Boulevard Pawn Shop here for $850. Ran great but after I had it for about three and a half months, I hit a bump and the spring from the idle screw popped off. This link will tell you the rest of the story: easternnc.app.bbb.org/complaint/view/11076482/c/x8pc7vAnyway, it has cost me $140 and a bunch of scary rides to get it straightened out. Reporting the pawn shop to the BBB and Angie’s List didn’t get me anything back, but I hope it can help someone else avoid getting screwed like I did. Y’all be careful with who you deal with! Bobby

My scoot guy showed up yesterday and put a new CDI in for me. My scoot runs like new!!! John, I'll get back with you on the orange CDIs. I'm going to need a spare. I just started a new job and I have to wait a couple of weeks to get some $ on my debit card.
Thanks again for all the help, y'all!

What's the best way to check a CDI? Is there a video somewhere? I posted this on my other thread and got some great help from y'all, but I haven't quite got it figured out yet... My scooter loses electrical power at least two to three times every morning on my way to work (about 8 miles one way) and on the way home. I flick the kill switch on and off real fast and it fires right back up. It also is a major pain to start when I try to leave work. This seems to be because of the heat. I've tried three different plug wire/cores and it hasn't changed things. When it wouldn't start yesterday, I pulled the plug/core wire off and replaced it with one of the other ones. It fired right up! All the new parts people around here are crooks and I really don't want to have to deal with them if possible. I know it's not the fuel, fuel filter, air filter, etc. When she runs, she runs like a champ! I have a better than average multimeter and would like to check the CDI myself before trying to get a new one, if that is my problem. Does anyone have a pin-out diagram for the CDI and what readings I should be getting? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance again!
Bobby

Like I posted earlier, my scoot is running better than ever, but now it wants to cut off while I'm riding. I've been able to flick the kill switch on and off real fast and it'll fire right back up most of the time. The coil is new. Just looking for ideas of places to check... The glass fuse in the battery box is good. Think I need a new CDI? I've got a multimeter and some electrical contact spray... I checked everything that I could that was suggested earlier...
Thanks in advance!

OKAY Y'ALL.... I THINK I'VE SOLVED THE STARTING PROBLEM. NOW IT STARTS CUTTING OUT WHEN I RUN IT @ FULL THROTTLE. AIR FILTER IS CLEAN, OIL IS FULL, GAS IS FULL W/ 93 OCTANE. IT'LL CRUISE AT ABOUT 25MPH IF I DON'T OPEN IT UP. IT WAS RUNNING 40MPH ON A FLAT STRETCH. I'M STUMPED! IF IT'S NOT ONE THING IT'S ANOTHER......

THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR HELP! YESTERDAY, IT STARTED CRAPPING OUT WHEN THROTTLING UP AND WANTED TO DIE WHEN I GAVE IT FULL THROTTLE. I NURSED IT HOME AT ABOUT 20 MPH. I PULLED THE FUEL LINE OFF OF THE CARB AND SHOT SOME CARB CLEANER INTO THE HOLE. IT CRANKED AFTER 2 TRIES AND RAN GREAT! IT ALSO CRANKED UP ON THE SECOND TRY THIS MORNING. HAD TO BABYSIT THE THROTTLE FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES, BUT IT RAN FINE ON MY WAY TO WORK (5 MILES). WENT OUT ON BREAK TO CHECK IT AFTER IT SAT IN THE SUN FOR A WHILE AND IT CRANKED RIGHT UP. MAYBE IT'S OKAY NOW. WILL UPDATE IF AND WHEN SOMETHING ELSE HAPPENS.....
