I HAVE A GATOR YY50QT-6. HAVE TAKEN APART CARB AND CLEANED IT, REPLACED PLUG AND COIL, OIL IS FINE AND AIR FILTER IS CLEAN. IT TAKES 2-3 TIMES TO START AND STAY RUNNING IN THE MORNING, EVEN WHEN I "BABY-SIT" IT AND KEEP MY HAND ON THE THROTTLE. RUNS FINE AFTER FINALLY WARMING UP. AFTER BEING AT WORK FOR 4-5 HOURS AND TRYING TO LEAVE, IT DOESN'T WANT TO START. IT DOES SIT IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT (NO SHADE IN PARKING LOT) AND HERE IN EASTERN N.C. IT DOES GET VERY HOT. I WAS THINKING ABOUT GETTING SOME QUICK-START FLUID AND SEE HOW THAT DOES. ANY IDEAS FROM Y'ALL WOULD BE A GREAT HELP!
THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Welcome to the fourm Bob. Do not use starter fluid . Cover the air filter when you try to start it cold. Your enrichner may not be working.

Welcome to the forum! This sounds more electrical than carb related especially when you say warms up, sits in heat. Pull the plug out and see if it has a good blue spark especailly when it's warm, be careful and don't get burned. Could very well be a CDI or coil heating up and kicking out. JR

THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR HELP! YESTERDAY, IT STARTED CRAPPING OUT WHEN THROTTLING UP AND WANTED TO DIE WHEN I GAVE IT FULL THROTTLE. I NURSED IT HOME AT ABOUT 20 MPH. I PULLED THE FUEL LINE OFF OF THE CARB AND SHOT SOME CARB CLEANER INTO THE HOLE. IT CRANKED AFTER 2 TRIES AND RAN GREAT! IT ALSO CRANKED UP ON THE SECOND TRY THIS MORNING. HAD TO BABYSIT THE THROTTLE FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES, BUT IT RAN FINE ON MY WAY TO WORK (5 MILES). WENT OUT ON BREAK TO CHECK IT AFTER IT SAT IN THE SUN FOR A WHILE AND IT CRANKED RIGHT UP. MAYBE IT'S OKAY NOW. WILL UPDATE IF AND WHEN SOMETHING ELSE HAPPENS.....

Give her some Seafoam in the tank and it'll help further clean it up.

4.5L tank is a little over a gallon, add 1 oz of seafoam per gallon of gas. First pour in your 1 oz of seafoam in the tank then fill it up as your filling it the seafoam will mix with the gas. Alleyoop

OKAY Y'ALL.... I THINK I'VE SOLVED THE STARTING PROBLEM. NOW IT STARTS CUTTING OUT WHEN I RUN IT @ FULL THROTTLE. AIR FILTER IS CLEAN, OIL IS FULL, GAS IS FULL W/ 93 OCTANE. IT'LL CRUISE AT ABOUT 25MPH IF I DON'T OPEN IT UP. IT WAS RUNNING 40MPH ON A FLAT STRETCH. I'M STUMPED! IF IT'S NOT ONE THING IT'S ANOTHER......
