The only issue I am having currently with this forum is getting motion sick from the banner that keeps popping in and out. It makes the entire page below the banner shift down and up. Very unhelpful when trying to read or click anything. It is the banner directly below the line of buttons: SCOOTER PROFESSOR | Recently Updated Threads |Today's Student Birthdays | Recent Student Posts | Recent Student Threads I am using FF 24.0 on Win7. I don't know if I have the same problem at home with the same browser. I need to remember to check tonight.

WOT bogging

Update: I had put on the new pump but never get much chance to ride the Znen last year. I was having trouble getting it to run, even with spray start, so I finally pulled the seat bucket, and there was the vac line for the pump, NOT on the manifold port. clipped the end and added a clamp, and removed all the other crazy vacuum lines and check valves and breathers and what- not. Now it fires and runs - Have to adjust the idle. The original weights were 17gram rollers, have 9.8 gram sliders in there now. Still grabby at stop lights. added a tach - a lawnmower /implement type that also keeps track of running time. No more bogging. but top speed is 49 per GPS (60 on the speedo), and I've seen 8900RPM. I don't believe I've been into this carb yet, so upjetting is next. For sure a new exhaust and open airfilter need to be in the near future. It is plenty quiet, but the exit of the muffler is like a dime size. The pipe is a [sarcasm]sweet quality[/sarcasm] necked down from the head to maybe .75" OD, welded into a larger less than 1"OD pipe.
I thought there was a fuel requirement badge near the filler or in the glove box, or under the seat, but I found none. I filled the Znen with 93octane to be in the safer side. I have not started to track fuel economy on this scooter yet.

WOT bogging

I've ordered a small scale so i can measure what I've got. I have a lawnmower tachometer + hour meter unit coming because the Znen has no tach. I'm not sure the tach on the Xingyue is accurate so I'll use another tach/hour meter on that one too. I've read that the Znen comes with heavy rollers. But I forget which group I saw it on and it seems someone threw out 17g as a possibility.
My Xingyue has a spacer needle that I haven't got washers for - came with none and I'll have to pull it out and go to the hardware store. I have not opened the Znen carb at all yet. I did receive the Mikuni fuel pump to install later this week if the weather holds up.
Two more small questions come to mind: I know the rollers can get flat spotted but is there any other pluses for siders over rollers?
The drive cover paper gasket - I scraped the Xingyue mating surfaces clean and skipped cutting a new gasket, while the Znen gasket is mostly still stuck in place in bits on both halves. Is it really needed?

Ordered one off of Amazon, just a tad less dollars, plus no tax and no shipping cost.
Has anyone found a better slider/roller weight for this Znen? I'd like to pick up a little top speed. I am not even sure how accurate the speedo is yet, I'll have to grab the GPS.

Excellent. This Znen is the first scooter I've had with a pump.
I'll have to order that and get a few more things done and see how it goes from there.

My 150 I believe is a 150t-f and is a znen did the same thing when new. I cured it with a better vacuum fuel pump. I got it from a mail order snowmobile dealer in wisc. it would run wot for a few seconds then run out of fuel. back off a little then it was ok, crank on it and real quick it was out of fuel. john Nice. Pretty much exactly my thoughts, though I back off and it still has enough momentum to refire. Any idea where or what model pump? You can see the pictures of my Znen in my signiture url

this Znen is my newer scoot, which I've had for 2.5 weeks. The valve cover is well buried in the frame, but I do need to check and adjust the valves too. Haven't opened the carb yet so no idea what jets are installed.
I need to get the washer dimensions for the slider needle for the carb on the Xingyue.
Can't wait til EFI is cheaper and standard!

I have been riding my new used Znen and twice during long-ish (1/2 to 3/4 miles maybe) stretches of WOT the scoot will start to bog, but if I let off the throttle a bit and wait, it will pick up and then bee fine for a while.
I'm sure its due and I will replace the fuel filter soon.
But since it recovers, I don't this is caused by the fuel filter. The ZN150T-F has a low mounted gas tank and a fuel pump.
I wonder if these pumps have trouble keeping up for long WOT?
And any suggestions on a good jet combination for the Znen with a long intake route and a muffler with a small outlet?

I have two Chinese scooters: I bought both used, each with 1000 miles. I have changed the oil a couple times since I got the Xingyue. Replaced the fuel/vac lines and fuel filter on the Xingyue. Replaced the coil and plug wire because the original wire had lost the retainer clip for the spark plug end. Tightened a lot of screws, Replaced the pizio buzzer horn with a 139db BadBoy horn. Cleaned the air filter. Adjusted the valves, changed jets and sliders, I need the dimension of the slide needle adjusting washers. Adjusted the throttle cable. Replaced one sight glass on the right hand brake master, and then replaced all the brake fluid in both. Put in a manual petcock. Upgraded the headlight to a 45/45W. Replaced both brake light switches with correct replacements which lasted only a few weeks so I made little brackets and used super cheap Radiotrash switches. Tire valves will be done early this season. I did the transmission/rear gear oil this weekend. I didn't find the drain bolt (which I've since read is the bottom rear case bolt), so mostly I drained it by laying the bike nearly on its side and poured the lube out from the fill hole. On the Znen, I've had it just over 2 week now. I had to add water to the dry battery and charge it, and then the second of two brake switches quit working (same $$$6+ units that the Xingyue uses), so I got a few micro-switches $2 at Grainger and made a pair of brackets, then drained both and replaced all the brake fluid for both master-cylinders. All the hoses look good but they are a knock off of Goodyear hoses - I forgot the knockoff name. The fuel filter is installed the right way around, the air filter is clean, the belt looks good but I did blow out all the rubber dust from the CV cover. The Znen is all DC - all the lights work with the ignition on, motor not running. I think I could fit a slightly larger battery, or two smaller batteries where the battery compartment is taking up a lot of space. I think the Znen could use a new pair of front shocks. And I will keep checking and tightening bolts and fasteners as I go. The Znen has brass looking tire valves. Did the motor and rear gear oil this past weekend. The Znen seems to have a grabby clutch. At a reasonable idle, it is trying to take off. And after shutting it off, while trying to push it backwards it is jerky or sticky. Xingyue speedoo is inaccurate above 25mph - indicated 70 is just 50. No idea on the Znen yet. The Xingyue has a tachometer but it is small and who knows how accurate. Znen has no tach. Ill get a couple of those lawnmower tach/hour meters. Loads to check, plenty to do even a little at a time. Pictures photobucket.com/jeepsteve-xingphotobucket.com/jeepsteve-znen
