I agree, JR. I would think that the only adjustment available would be for the idle speed - not air/fuel mixture.

[replyingto=knobguy123]knobguy123[/replyingto]Yes it is the 2012 BMS TMX 260 EFI. The screw is just left of where the throttle is and if is on a spring. I don't know is this not the EFI UNIT? There is no manual for the 2012 model and the manual I have is the 2009 carb model which is useless. I think the idle screw is under the air cleaner but I have not looked at that area yet. I just saw this screw by the throttle cable and thought it was the idle so I turned it and now my engine is knocking a little. I do use premium gas so it's not because of that so I just thought there maybe a setting for the screw which I think is on the EFI UNIT?

The screw with the spring sounds like a idle speed adjustment especially if it's next to the throttle cable.

Yes that is what I thought but it did not do anything to the idle when I turned it so I thought it maybe the air / fuel mix screw? Although I have read that the EFI UNIT controls the mix with the ECU and there is no mix screw for the EFI. ANYWAy if it is not the idle screw or the Fuel mix screw then I don't have a clue what it does?

Type error it is the BMS TMX 260cc EFI not BMX TMS.

I would give using the lower level octane gas a shot instead of the premium gas. Remember that the Chinese standards on their gas are different than ours and in most cases our 87 octane gas is the same as their premium. It has been told to me that they even still use leaded gas (lucky dogs) (X).
Can you post some pictures of this screw and location?

I bet it is the throttle stop screw(it stops the butterfly at the zero throttle position) .
Can you post a picture so we can see whats is going on there .

I agree, JR. I would think that the only adjustment available would be for the idle speed - not air/fuel mixture. I don't think the idle speed is mechanical on fuel injection systems , I think it is done electronically within the throttle body . The butterfly needs to be in a designed position . A/F is done by stepper motor and or pulse width . John
