Well, Tomatoe season being over up here, we have a bunch of green tomatoes on the vine. That is my open invitation, every year, to fry up a bunch of Fried Green Tomatos . Now, if you have never tried this, believe me, you should. I will even give you my own secret developed recipe. Since I never measure anything, I will tell you the ingredients:
1 Part ritz vegtable crackers- crumbed up fine 1 part bread crumbs- crumbed up fine (I use my left over homemade bread) 1/2 part flour 3/4 part grated romano-parmesean cheese salt pepper rosemary basil Mix all of this in a bowl
beat two eggs with a little bit of milk slice some green tomatos dip tomatos in egg, coat with crumb mixture, dip in egg again, coat again with crumb mixture.
Fry over medium heat in extra virgin oil oil until tomato is soft and crust is golden brown and hard. Serve
These are delicious. It is not the common southern fried recipe. It is the McAlli recipe.
Now, it is rather chilly here today (the rest of the week is supposed to be nice). But when I can't scoot, I cook. This my family benefits from and they can't wait to eat grandma's cooking come fall. Since it is chilly here today. I have also decided to cook a batch of Ham and lenil bean soup. Not kidding you, this stuff is to die for. And very loaded with all essential proteins.
If any of you are ever up in my neck of the woods in Ohio, drop in. You know that I am going to feed you.

What a great place to ride. Video quality came across really good on my computer. Any way, I am always riding where there is lots of traffic. Would love to have a place like that to ride. There are plenty of back country roads in ohio. But most of them are curvey (why I don't know because Ohio is flat where I live). And in Ohio, the lonely car on the back road speeds and is all over the road which is bad when you are coming around a curve. Oh well. I enjoyed your video

Oh JR, can you imagine your irish clan and my irish clan together? Wow, between you and me (both lovers of cooking and gardening), all my kids and grands, your wife, all your kids and grands. Oh my what a party that would be! And of course, with you and I doing the cooking, the food would be plentyful and outstanding! What a great time that would be. (Just don't forget, I am only half irish. the other half is swedish. I am only a half breed.

I understand. I put over 1000 miles on mine in less than 3 months. I love my bike. The weird thing is that I had never known anyone who rode a bike (scooter or motorcycle), nor did anyone in my family ride. When I turned 61 (I am a young 62 now), all of a sudden, for no explainable reason, I wanted a scooter. I ride like the wind now. And I will never stop. When the time comes that I can no longer ride a two wheel, I will go to a trike. Yep, it is in my blood to stay. My family (daughter & son) was against it at first but they have totally accepted it now and refer to my bike to the grandchildren as "grandma's hog". All in good fun. And the grandkids think (expecially the ones in junior high) think they have a "really cool" grandmother.

ccprof, all I can say is, I am impressed. If I went through flood issues like you, I would have just sat down and cried! Jr, you are right. The hot bath is a remedy that works and I do take plenty of those. So besides getting some relief, I am sweaky clean! Too bad it only works for 20 minutes (the pain relief, not being clean).Fortunately, that lasts longer than the pain relief!!!!! Ha Ha
Wow, lots of people with back injuries ride bikes. I have a walker now that I use on really bad days, but I still ride. I just bungee my walker to the back of my bike and go. I used to get cat whistles from men when I went past. Now I get laughs. At least I know that I have made people smile for the day.

I am duly impressed. Wow. My next bike is going to be a trike. Wow do I want this. Since I make it a policy to buy eveything cash, and these puppys go for 28,000 dollars, I figure it will take me 2 years to save for this. I want one! This is a mighty fine machine!

See PJ, I told you God really does answer prayers. He loves you and He will always take care of you. (If we believe in Him, He even takes care of us after we leave the earth because we have life forever in heaven. How can you help but love a guy (God is both male and female in his personality, but we all tend to think of Him as male) like that? Whoops! Did not mean to start anything controversial, so please lets not!. This is a celebratory thread. PJ is getting a kidney! Please lets keep it that way! (And of course, Christ was male here on earth so lets not start anything bad. This is a good thread!!!!! Hurrah!!!!

No, no rides. My back is too bad. Since they left, I have taken several short rides. I'm ok on Fred as long as I keep the trips short and stick to smooth roads . Bumps hurt at present! lol Katelyn looks exactly like me when I was her age. When you put pics side by side, you can't tell which one is me and which one is Katelyn. You wouldn't even know her mommy and daddy (my son) had anything to do with her creation. Looks like she dropped straight out of me (although I assure you she didn't)! Personality wise, she is a little lady. Loves to take care of her babydolls. My grandson Ryan looks exactly like his daddy at that age! Thank you, both of you for the compliments. It means alot, especially since my opinion is just a little prejudice!

my grandkids sure do like my bike. They climbed up on it every time they were out side, even when i wasn't there. (I had to re-adjust my mirrors because they really messed them up.. Ryan is only two, but that boy is a natural climber. Boy can he climb. Attachments:
