you could check the kill wire from the cdi to the ignition switch and the ground wire on the ignition switch to make sure its grounding.

theres a station about 10 miles from here that sells pure gas and its $6.50/gallon! i think ill take my chances with my e10 93oct at $3.83/gallon.

the real question is whether you would actually recieve it! ya i guess theyd be good for parts. if you had a large complex or factory you could get em cheap as something to get around on. or if you have a large piece of property with trails like i do then you could use it there.

also another thing to think about is whether they were seized because they didn't have the right papers/certifications emission standards. theyd be useless for on-road use if so.

Stories of 50MPH out of 50cc are BS. more displacement is needed. maybe those people's speedometers were inaccurate (like most are) if you do end up putting more air in the tires, take care on turns. less of a contact patch on the road. hell, ive never had a car of my own, just my scooter. hopefully that will change soon. it will only be for winter&rainy days however. the scoot always wins.

yup if you want speed a 50 is not for you. i weigh the same as you and ill get about 28-30 out of it normally.. but hey thats fast enough for me. people who say thats not fast enough: try falling off at that speed. believe me, its fast enough.
also Alley is right on the engines not lasting as long with a BBK because of the added stress on the crank and bearings.

you would probably need to change the whole stator if you could find the right one. what engine is this? post a pic?

it probably could be done by a whole bunch of rewiring, but at that point you might have better spent the $ for a new correct one. as for just plugging it in where the old one was? no it will burn out if you do that.

Just my luck. You can find a $20 scoot & get it to run. I get a equivalent to a $100 scooter & can't get it run. :[ Somedays I feel machines don't like me… i dont know how many times ive pulled engines from the junkyard that run. usually honda gx160's or clones of them

also, crushing the line like that can cause it to crack & deteriorate inside and pieces will come off and plug whatever is downstream from that point, also can crack on the outside and leak

heres what I did to mine. doesn't look as good as yours. I drilled some holes in the front because the kickstart is screwed up anyway. heres a video of the whole thing when I first got it from a junkyard
