If it starts as good as you say,and runs good for awhile ,I would check coil first, then the CDI.It sounds like the coil may be going bad,but I have seen the CdI do the same thing.Good Luck.

Hi all, recently my cdi went bad,up till then had never had problem.Scooter ran great,257linhai engine had all kinds of power.Bought new cdi off ebay, scooter starts good now but when cold moter will backfire .After it warms up a little it runs better but no power at all, acts like it is out of time.On my old cdi,it had the #0607 and that is all,the new one does not have those #s.It makes me think I bought the wrong cdi.Oh yea when I ride it now and let off the gas it starts backfireing until I give it gas again.Hope some one might be able to help me out on this one. Thanks for any help.

Hi all,I have no spark at plug, have checked coil by replaceing, also replaced CDI,went over all the connection's,only has 3 fuses, all good, checked the stator to see if it was grounded to motor, not grounded to motor.I am thinking it is a bad pick up coil.It ohmed 203 ohms from blue wire to yellow. That sounds high but dont know what it should read.If anyone out thier knows it would be a great help to me.Also what voltage should I receive through the PU coil wires while the motor is turning over. Thanks for any help.

Hi all,I have a express md250t .It is water cooled .My problem is wiring the coil properly. It has the big coil with metal bar running through the middle. On back of coil it has a small connector and a bigger connector.I have a orange wire and a black wire that hooks to the coil but both wires have lg connectors on them. The black wire is hot when key is on.I think the orange wire comes from the CDI. I dont want to hook it up wrong, afraid I will blow the cdi box,the cdi is the 8 connector type but only has 5 wires going to it.Thanks for any help
