Hey There Glad u finally got ur gremlins exorcised .. still pondering about working on my 2010 magnum to try and get it running.. LOL I looked at the speedo pucks trying to get the speed to register right, was always 10-15 MPH off.and without knowing the sizes and turning ratios. I finally gave up and bought a trail tech..... .trailtech.net/digital-gauges/vapor/752-116" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.trailtech.net/digital-gauges/vapor/752-116after that speed was right on and the other features helped too... Just an Idea...…. BTW IT WASN"T THE MODEL IN THE LINK... can't remember the number I bought but it was their current model 9 years ago..

lol.. I have 2010 Magnum. You might check the 2 wheel Forum for more information on air breather. that's where I've been going for tuning information... The same info there for mods on the 2 wheelers would apply to three wheels too.. as far as engine performance...

thanks for the replies..... John. I'll try to get pic of cdi plugged in... I have a performance cdi I want to try too but will have to make a Harness for it also the plugs are different..... Alley.. That's what I figured.. just tuning on the balance of springs and sliders... all those cars lined up behind me scares me sometimes and I feel bad about slowing them down.. LOL there is a pipe frame that goes up on each side about at that point could I measure to that pipe on each side? I did that and I think I had like a 3/8" difference between left and right side.. Not many posts on people doing tuning on these trikes on the boards that I have been able to find.. got some info from the 2 wheel forums and just applied what was similar between the two.....

I'm finally trying to get my magnum running like I wish it to be. I have problems climbing hills here in central Pa. It would slow down terribly up hill and wouldn't downshift till about 30MPH. I changed contra spring in clutch to a red 2k and now it downshifts at about 43MPH. I have some 12G sliders coming to replace the 13G's that are now in it. I also have what appears to be a side to side shudder in the handlebars at speed. does anybody have an easy way to check if the rear wheels are in alignment with the forward motion? I tried using the longest straightedge I have a 4 foot metal level but it only reaches midway with it against outside of rear tires and not sure where to measure into the side of the trike .... I think the 12G sliders will get the hill climbing speed stabilized since the red contra helped some.....

alley he's talking about torque spring not arm spring.
torque spring makes it harder to pull belt down it works with the rollers or sliders in the variator for gearing.... stiffer spring downshifts better for lower gear while climbing decelerating.. etc... arm springs have the 1000 2000 3000 rpm ratings......

Ya thanks Jim this is a trail tech computer does it all digital Speedo, Tach, Odometer, Trips Clock Times, Engine Temp, Does it all and made for Cycles. I think the 2 PPR is right setting and that I have something else causing low Rpm's. I know its going to be lower cause I put 255x50x12 tires on the rear but it's like it just runs out of oomph before it should. thinking pull Carb and check for partial blockages, maybe bigger main jet new performance no limiter CDI and POWER coil w/ iridum plug maybe change fuel pump out to higher capacity too ....
it reminds me of driving a car and not getin right power and finding a kids toy under the gas pedal (been there done that LOL)

OK getting confusing.. I beleive on tach the revolution is referring to a power revolution ( Combustion to combustion) I did set on 1 and then it shows I am Idling at 3400RPM and the Clutch engages at 4000 on Stands... If so Really BROKEN there lol. If set on 2 then Idle is 1200 and Clutch engages at 1800-2000 Sounds right.. on 1 WOT @59mph is about 7500 RPM on 2 it about 4000. Can't be right both ways............

hi alley
ya but the specs are quite different for the 150's and the 300's
150
Maximum Power (kw/r/min):6.2/7500 Maximum Torque (N.m./rpm):8.2/6500
300
Maximum Power (kw/r/min):14/6500(1±6%) Maximum Torque (N.m./rpm):21/5500(1±6%)
still trending towards a performance- non-restricted cdi and power coil for it i hope jim or the IB Member might chime in with more info on the PPR.
At least its running now, Have had it since Feb and just getting to ride it. Lotsa Problems.......

Thanks JR.
Ya 59 at 4000 is ok but 75 at 6800 would be nicer lol
I think it down to the engine sparks at TDC ignition and TDC exhaust so would be 2 PPR. I have it set for 2 and my idle shows about 1400 and the clutch engages while on stand at 1800-2000 like it should. but it maxes at about 4000. so either the PPR is changing to 1 at some RPM (some do) or I have a problem limiting RPM's..
The Specs are
Maximum Power (kw/r/min):14/6500(1±6%) Maximum Torque (N.m./rpm):21/5500(1±6%)
I am sure we will get it resolved shortly, Many nice people on this board and others have been a great help so far ..
