Hey guys, i just took it out for first time today.I own a Icebear 300cc 2012 scooter. The weather was just warm enough at 50 degrees. Thats very good since we in January in Indiana. The only problem i seen the instrument panel doesn't light up. Its 100% digital instrument panel. So i didnt have a clue how fast i was going since its digital. There a button or switch that turns that on ? i didnt see anything in that manual about that.

We run into misty weather up in the states (Indiana) and the moisture screws them up. Thats why I dont purchase them any longer. No need to go to another forum Hulk24, your family, just ask one of us. We'll help you find them here. Keep it here within the family.

Rapid Jim comes this way too. Also even though I haven't looked at a Icebear I'm betting if you have a wiring diagram to it I can figure it out as far as a lot of things go. Now no doubt Jim knows the Icebear scooters and the main thing is getting it going. Hey Hulk if that scooter did come with a diagram let me know, would love to get it in the tech section JR

WHOA!!! Just a cotton picken minute here, you have to share the good or the bad. Well I jumped over there to see what his response was and well just as anyone would of told you is to check the connections which could of come loose. Which requires taking the front off to get to back of the instrument panel. Your going to be a PRO taking the front end off if your not already ;D. Don't feel bad I have taken mine off a shit load of times and you get good at it takes me less than 10 minutes now ;D Alleyoop

Now looks like I am going to be a pro taking plastic off new scooter. It would be my second time in 2 days had to take some plastic off. First time was adjusting the seat cable when had to remove two pieces of plastic to get to it. Now have to do again to check for loose wiring for instrument. grrrrrr. But on the plus side, i took it out for a spin yesterday and it rode very good. Only rode it for 15 minutes since its still winter here, but the temp was in the 50s. Very warm temp for month of January. But was very windy so made the temp feel like in the low 40s.

Yeah I am a member here also and I do contribute. Just hasn't been much action lately. I saw his post on another forum so that is where I answered it.
Of course I told him to check the connector first and gave a link as to how to pull the cowl.
Sad to say there is not a "good" wiring diagram for this scooter that I am aware of, at least one that shows the digital dash. Now it is time for me to research for one.

It takes time for a good forum to grow and slowly we are doing just that. I remember when I helped build the last forum I left it was a very slow go at first and there were days of no traffic at all.
That can happen for lots of reasons, people are at work, weather has turned nice and they are enjoying that instead of being in front of a computer and needs.
Even though we talk about other subjects on the open discussion section it's not near as much as in other places but rather a bigger percentage of discussion here is scooter needs related and that's ok with me either way.
We started this forum in June 2011 and little by little folks are learning about the tech site which I am going to continue to build with any material I can find. That's important to me because so many folks get out there with no help and sometimes just a thread or PDF of how to do this is all they need to keep riding their scooter.
Some people join solely for advice or help never post again, some join to get help, some to help others and for fun and others join simply for a manual download and never open their mouth and that can make things slow too but we welcome any and all and if just finding a manual here is all they want then at least they may tell someone else hey Professor has it and go there. That's all fine by me too.
I appreciate every one and hope you find a home here.

With so many Chinese Scooters and Motorcycles showing up with digital instruments we all know we'll need to find a solution. As for as this problem goes our analogue panels suck too! Sure, the Speedometer works but they are not accurate at all and some of us prefer miles instead of kilometres displayed. Acewell manufactures high quality and dependable digital meters for most any scooter or motorcycle. Instillation is also simple. The speedometer uses a sensor that straps on the lower fork leg that is tripped by a magnet attached to the rim. The tachometer connection is just the end of the wire wrapped around the spark plug wire. Just wrap it around 2 to 5 turns. If the tachometer is unstable when the engine is running simply wrap more or fewer turns around the spark plug wire. The fuel gage is programmable for different fuel sensors. If it reads incorrectly just reprogram the meter using one of the other resistance ranges. If you have an ohm meter you can quickly figure out which setting to use. All fuel sensors have 3 wires coming out of them. Connect your meter to two wires at a time and note the highest resistance reading. Use this reading for setting the fuel gage meter. These meters can be ordered with coolant temp gages for liquid cooled engines. I've seen a few web sites with a limited selection of Acewell meters but all of them are for large motorcycles incorporating far more indicators than our scoots would need. Perhaps one of the dealers that come here might think about applying to Acewell to carry their product line. .acewell-meter.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.acewell-meter.com/You can download the manuals for all their meters at the link above.
