Hi all this is scootaway frm SA. I am riding a Jonway Master 250. On Saturdays I join a group of people teaching others how to ride scooters in the face of rising gas prices (petrol here in SA). Glad to be joining additional scooter forums.

Thanx for the welcome guys. Here in SA we don't have a thanks giving day so no turkey until xmas (we have freedom day whoopie). As you know my daughter resides in Fairfax Virginia (Arlington) and she did send me a pic of the table as it was set for thanks giving (she lives with my ex who went to the US some 14 years ago) and I so wish I was there (for the turkey not the ex)
JR what can I say about the US or at least the bit I saw, how about I lost a piece of my heart in the land of the Star Spangled Banner. Yeah I like the place and I will move there eventually in about three and a half years. The major thing is that the US is a developed country. The system works, people obey traffic rules, its clean (Fairfax) and the best is the xmas songs in the shopping malls with a Starbucks in my hand. But man does it get cold? I saw the change of guard in the Arlington cemetary, stood at JFK's grave and never before got so cold in my live. I even went in to The White House. They wouldn't let me see Obama. I walked along the reflection pools and visited the Holocaust Museum. Planning a visit again sometime next year. The 18 hours flight is a bummer though, my scooter cannot wreck my backside as sitting for 18 hours on a plane and I have a light frame maybe I must pick up some weight haha.
Take care

(for the turkey not the ex)Been there! My problem is they are hard to tell apart! ;D Yes it gets cold sometimes! This winter so far it's been mild and we have a forecast of 28F this week and that will be the coldest day here in Arkieland so far. Last year was mean! We had 4 days here that I got up to "0" and I don't mean a windchill I mean "0" Up In NW Arkiland it got to -22F on two different days. But that is not the norm here and stay in touch and see if ya can gain a few lbs. at Christmas! JR

From what I saw on the news, it was warmer here yesterday than down in Arkieland.
