Is it me or is it those kick stands seem to be just a tad short and almost vertical? On any sort of grade or slope and if the wind gusts a little.. down she goes.... read somewhere where a fella parked his next to a car and before he could get in the house bango over she went on the car. And what with those potato chip windshields and mirrors.
anybody out there come up with a fix on this particular situtation without having to put her on the center stand all the time? Haven't really delved into this engineering oversight and was thinking about putting a BMS stand on it just because I happen to have a burnt out one on hand. Sam~

Sam, welcome to our forum. I have 2008 250cc Roketa mc54b scooter, I have a short kick stand too, Mine has never fallen, but I am careful how you place my scooter, I always test the area after kick stand is down because of road surface, slope, and the wind factor, if I don't like the area I may move my scooter or use the center stand.

This has been a problem for many and I took and welded a little piece of metal on the bottom of mine to extend it about 3/4" and I've never had an issue.

When I purchased my 150cc, the dealer advised me not to EVER use the side stand. Well one day I was cleaning the garage. Pushed the scoot outside and dropped the side stand. Turned around to go back in the garage and YUP!! she fell over! The handle bars were a bit skewed, there were a couple of scratches on one panel and the throttle was jammed a bit. Nothing that I couldn't fix, but that was the last time I'll ever put her on her side stand! The side stand is just plain designed wrong! Not enough of an angle away from the body and probably too long! I only use the center stand now!

the kick stands need to be at least 6" longer and bend way out to the side in order to put more scooter weight on it and let the scooter lean more. it also needs to have a hump and notch to drop into so to hold it in place where it can not be pushed off. I believe a harley stand is like that. john

My Kick Stand fell off thanks to the quality welds on my 50cc. Stick to the Center stand IMO.

The kickstand on my JCL MP250A seems to work great. Never had a problem.
