The bike has been sitting for a while and I believe I held the start on for two long trying to get it up and started. Well while starting it got stuck on starting on its own so I put in on off and pulled the key out and it was still starting. so I unplugged the battery when I touch the battery back it still wants to start.
key ignition wires fuzzed? start switch?

Is the kill switch off when you hook up battery?

That is for sure two possibilities but for it to engage with just touching the battery the start button or it's circuit is grounded. The ignition sends 12 volts to the brake lever and to start the scooter one must have it pressed so you could have a stuck brake switch and a stuck start button also.
The start button sends the ground side to the solenoid so one has to have ground and 12 volts to make it engage. Was this scooter in the rain?
I'm going to be gone for a little while to a pee wee football game and when I return I'll break down the starting circuit for you and give you some things to test.

It sounds like the starter relay is frozen and is not releasing. It would be like having a permanent jumper across the large terminals. It's a possibility that the internal contacts are welded together because of the excessive starting time. If the problem still remains after disconnecting the small wires from the relay, then the relay is shorted.

RIGHT ON CRUISER!! GREAT SUGGESTION OF WHAT IT COULD BE!! I would have never thought of that and I bet that is it since he was cranking and cranking and probably welded the contact inside the solenoid.
If that is the problem this should be a sticky someplace or in a Tips or Tricks. We cannot have this get lost. Alleyoop

Thanks, Alley. If THIS is the part, then all that has to be done for a quick check is pull the connector to isolate the relay from the rest of the scoot.

For sure Cruiser! Man I'm asleep! Worked on the banner and plum forgot about this! Sorry brandpnt! Yes let's isolate the solenoid and it's generally on the right side right above the muffler. Just disconnect the small wire plug and touch the battery again, if it tries to start then problem solved you need a new solenoid!
Let us know and if that is not the answer then we'll break it down and find it!
