Hello all, I have a 2007 Jonway 250cc scooter and the fuel gauge isn't working. I replaced the fuel sending unit as the old one had a cracked float bulb and the contacts were badly corroded. However, I didn't test it as I didn't have gas in it and I was certain that was the problem.
Anyone have any other thoughts as to what I should check next? I don't own any multi-meter tools and would need a block of instruction on their use if I did. My next move is to check the connections under the dash, but if that doesn't work I'll be dead in the water.

So okay, need more info. Is the fuel gauge the ONLY thing not working? Speedo? Temp gauge? Whatever else you have on your dashboard? When you turn the key on, does everything but the fuel gauge light up? Does the scoot start? Need to narrow our focus a tad, methinks. (Multimeters are cheap and easy to use, though, so we'll get you through that if need be, and need will probably be.)

Hello ellpee, Yes all the other gauges work, and the scooter starts and runs fine. I rode it yesterday and they all light up, in fact there's a little red light at the 11 o'clock position of the fuel gauge.

Crwford is on it ,,,unless the wire is disconnected or broken internally that will let you know if the gauge is working or not
