Hi, I'm new to this forum so I'd like to say hello to everyone. I have a 2009 Saga 250cc scooter that I have a problem with. I took battery out for winter and just replaced it and found that I have no power. The battery is fine and I was told that sometimes wires from the fuse box falls out causing power loss. I can't seem to find fuses/box in the usual places, can anyone help? Thanks, Kwan

That machine looks very much like my 2008 built scooter. I have a fuse box just under the battery cover in a small black box on the left corner near the left rear corner of the battery. There are 4 active fuses in the box. I believe there is another fuse elsewhere in the wiring. Just don't know where that one might be.
I hope this helps.

Thanks,"bobf", I have just done some research on the subject and the info I've gathered seems similar to your description. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any fuse box or red wire/main fuse from positive battery cable to ignition switch. Maybe my scooter is an aberration from the norm and it's hidden under seat compartment. Any one else out there with similar problem/solution? Kwan

OK, I just went out to take another look at my scoot. There is a red wire from my battery post toward the right side of the battery and is tucked down into the maze of wires next to the battery. I did find the little red wire led me to a near clear plastic box about .62X.62X2.50 with a fuse inside. I hope this helps you to find the missing fuse. For me it was a bit hidden till I slowly pulled some wire up to be visible.

What engine does this scooter have? If it is the linhai it will not have a fuse box? It will have one 20A fuse by the starter relay and another 15A fuse by the battery. If the 20A fuse is blown the scooter is totally dead. Sometimes the starter relay is tough to find, start looking behind the right side panel area above the muffler.

Hi "JR", okay that's starting to make some sense, maybe I have the "Linhai engine" and therefore no fuse box. I'll check when I get to my scooter. Thanks, Kwan

Linhai = horizontal cylinder, CFMoto (or "Honda clone") = vertical cylinder. Former has NO fuse box, latter has one PLUS an in-line fuse from battery to key, as described somewhere above, as far as I know.Which engine you have is very important.

I looked at my scooter on the weekend and still couldn't find any evidence of fuses. Short of dismantling side panels, etc. I couldn't see anything resembling the glass fuse holder that is supposed to be present. I followed the red positive cable to a relay and then another red cable over to I believe the starter motor but nothing resembling a fuse. I am totally stumped as to where the fuses would be and can't believe that the fuses would be that well hidden and hard to get at. Am I missing the trees for the forest? Help!!!!!

I think you forgot to clarify the type of engine in your scoot. Low and horizontal or vertical. Fuses or not and locations do differ.

Sorry, I forgot to check engine type. The scooter is in another part of town so don't get to it every day, will check next time. For now, engine type aside, since there is no fuse box near battery or red power feed wire attached to red battery cable can I assume horizontal engine? I saw a few wire diagrams pertaining to horiz. eng. showing a fuse integral with starter relay( not separate) that the red battery cable goes to. I first thought when I traced red bat. cable to relay was that the fuse might be inside relay as the black box looked as it might open-able. Regardless I guess I'll have to dismantle side panels etc. to get a closer look.

If it is the linhai you'll have a blade type fuse on the starter relay not a glass type, looks like this:

Okay, thanks JR. My relay has what looks like a cover over fuses then. I'll take it off the frame and see if that is so.

Wow, finally figured out this problem. It was the fuse on the relay. Thanks JR for the photo and everyone else that gave me info., it really helped. I had no idea a fuse was buried there under cover like that. Now another problem. With ignition turned on the turn signals work properly, when engine is running, the brake light tries to blink along with the turn signal lights. WTF, one thing after another. Anyone else encounter this? Did I ground out something fiddling around looking for fuse in all the wrong places?

One more thing I forgot to mention. Upon opening fuse cap on starter relay I found a red 10 A fuse instead of 20A. I just realized a few people mentioned a 20A fuse should be installed there. Would a lower amp fuse cause this problem and should I replace it with a 20A fuse?
