My left turn signal works, but it is sticky at times. By that I mean it doesn't go right on or takes a few presses to get it off. I sprayed with electrical cleaner, but still the same.
Now looking at it all it appears if the signal switch or light switch fails the entire unit needs to be replaced. Which looks like the front needs to come off and the plastic around the steering to runs wires to lights.
Has anyone changed the switch on 250 54B? No plug and play on this unit, at least I can't find it.
Thanks

Speedracer I belive that to be correct it comes all in a one piece unit and if it's like the other side with the start button it's not that bad to get off and plug in.

Texan, no it's not. Mine has a total of 7 connectors coming from. One huge wire cover goes from the switch up the handle bar and then underneath the front cover and that's where the 7 plastic connectors split up.
It looks exactly like it, but it won't work. If I could find one I will post a picture of it. Thanks for looking.

Hey guys....I changed my turn signal/headlight switch out and I got the exact one from . roketa.com ..... for $50.00.... it is plug and play once you get down the wires and connectors... my change out did not fix my prob... still can not get the high beams to work with the hi/lo switch...lo is on till I use the passing switch to get high beams...any suggestions...I have the HID mod and it works just like the OEM bulbs....not sure what is wrong....thanks...try and tighten the turn signal lever...it will come loose and causes the switch to be hard to cancel the blinkers.... The HID mod will not work just like the OEM bulbs because OEM bulbs have 2 filaments in each bulb. One for hi beam and one for lo beam. HID bulbs are gas discharge and only have one source of light per bulb. In order to get a true hi-lo beam function, you would need 4 HID bulbs - 2 for hi and 2 for lo beams. The more common and less expensive set up is the hi-lo HID conversion which uses a relay to mechanically move the bulb to simulate a hi and lo beam light. Standard HID systems will only operate on one beam.

You didn't mention which HID system you had so I wanted to make sure you didn't have the standard HID system which does not give hi beams. I also have the hi-lo HID setup and almost bought the standard set up thinking that I would get both beams.

I have the Hi/Lo with relay....Bi/Xenon...H4....5000k...superslim ballast....telescopic bulb....it is not the single beam which only has the lo beam.....I have high beam if I use the passing switch...This is why I changed the switch....I can see the bulb move or telescopic out...this problem was with the original bulbs...so I replaced the left handlebar switch...which I got from .roketa.com" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.roketa.com ..... the exact copy of the original one.... and the problem is still the same... the hi/lo beam switch does not work for high beam....just low.. the HID's are so bright that I don't need hi beam....was just trying to get the switch to work properly...

I see what you're saying bhinch but I thought the hi/low function of the OEM switch could be used to change even your type HID's from hi to low beam. If it does work with the passing switch then it sounds like to me it's just a matter of switching the relay from the black wire to the blue wire at the dimmer switch, I do believe blue is the high beam side.
I'm sure Cruiser could comment on this.

Thanks for the info...next time I take the front fairing off...I will check that out....the problem was there with the OEM headlight setup...the rocker switch between hi/lo failed to switch the headlight...so I have Lo beam when the ignition switch is turned on and then I pull the passing switch to get Hi beam....which I can see almost forever....so my hookup now did not change how the rocker switch worked....it was there after about 2 1/2 yrs of use...and then it quite working....go fiqure....then I did manual choke....grips....HID....recovered seat....thanks again...

JR, you are right about the switch you found. I don't need it now as I fiddled around with the signal switch and it works ok, just have to make sure I push it all the way to the left and it will snap in place. Under the plastic is a large connector which looks like it connects 6 wires, then they go off to the the headlights, signals, horn, etc.

The relay switching HIDs work fine with a properly functioning hi/lo headlight system.

JR I hope you are right about the switch. Darn signals won't stay on unless I hold them while making a turn. So I ordered the whole headlight, turn signal, horn, assembly. Now it's time to start removing all the plastic so when it does arrive I will have most of the work completed.

Purchased new headlight, signal switch from Ebay and it arrived today. It looks exactly like the old one except none of the wires or connectors are the same. JR has been helping me along, but this is one disaster.
There are 9 wires coming out of the switch and the only ones that match are the black wire and maybe the orange. What makes this more difficult is inside the switch as the wires are not positioned in the same place as on the oem switch. Almost a week now without the scooter over a dumb switch.
