Yesterday came home on the scooter, parked it. 30 minutes later went in the garage and oil on the floor under engine and rear tire area. PANIC set in. Worked trying to remove the plastic rear sides. Got it all lose except the very back where the tail light section is. and could not get the key seat cable latch apart. Is there an easier way to do it. or instructions here on the site on how to remove them
By the way I found that on top of the engine (Honda clone) there is a small breather pipe connected by tubing to a "Y" going in different directions. When I got the plastic out of the way I could see that the little tube was still connected to the "Y" tubing but pulled out of the top of the engine. I cleaned this area real good with brake cleaner and the metal tube and used high heat silicone to keep it in the hole. Will run engine later and see if that does the trick
Any one ever have this happen to them? Thanks

Without a picture, that Y tube sounds like the vacuum line that drives the fuel pump and also does something else to the carburetor. If it had pulled completely out, though, I would have thought that would cause the fuel pump to quit working, or cause other running problems.
Believe I had the same problem with the rear plastic, never did solve it, just had to pull it out of the way the best I could. DAMN these Chinese plastics engineers! I'll watch this thread to see if anybody comes up with an answer.

I will take a few pics as I struggle with out breaking something putting it together. Not sure how to post pics. Have not done that yet. I have run the scooter with plastic off and all seems ok. With that piece off it sprayed oil all under neath the seat area. Just finished cleaning every thing. The scooter did not skip a beat with that piece out of the top. Purred along at 60 no problem. Could that be a breather of some kind? Thanks for the input. Glenn

It is your crankcase breather. Oddly, it comes out of the case and the valve cover as well. #1 comes from the case, #2 comes from the valve cover, #3 runs to the air cleaner apparatus which has a collection box for the oil:
If you will look at the air box you'll see a clear plastic tube filled with oil hanging off of the bottom. That needs to be periodically emptied.

The key lock comes off by turning a metal bracket, or snapping a metal bracket off of the lock cylinder. You first have to remove the cable which is a barrel attachment like a throttle cable. Then you should be able to tell how to get the metal bracket off by inspection.

Minesweeper thank you for the input. I believe I havemy problem solved. Took her for a ride, came home and waited. No oil leak. So far so good. I only went about 4 miles the day it happened. I checked the oil it was just at the bottom of the dip stick. A longer ride could have been devastating. I will post some install of plastic fenders later if it can help someone else thanks all
