I've now have my bracket for the R/R & the diode mounted to the front of the scooter before the radiator what I would like to know is that I need to add 2 to 2½' of 16ga (wire I already have) from the stator to the R/R should the voltage & current still be close to the same and the wire I have work for the stator being the stator has cloth covering over maybe teflon (or fireproof maybe) coated wire?

Not for sure but I think I seen this video on the scooter professor forum about upgrade R/R for the mc-13-250 I believe the person in the video called it an O&T who would carry this or one like it with a little more amp

14 to 16ga wire will be fine and here is the R/R you're asking about.

I relocated mine to the under-seat compartment just for easier future access, and the A/C stator voltages across various combinations of the three yellow wires was pretty much the same before and after. I too just used some wire I had in the garage, old three-wire cord from some defunct power tool, don't know what the gauge was.
