Recently bought scooter, kick start works and it runs good. Push button start wont work, no brake lights when brake handle squeezed, no power going to push button switch but switch itself tested good. Fuse at batterry good But former owner had the battery fuse bypassed and had it taped directly to the battery. Has new ignition, ignition turns on fine, headlights and blinkers work. Just no push start or brake lights

Check the wires going to the brake switch on both Brakes ONE WIRE on each brake switch SHOULD be getting 12 volts. So when you squeeze the brake handle on either brake it sends Voltage to the Brake Lights and the SOLENOID. Then when you push the START button it GROUNDS the SOLENOID to complete the circuit and activates it to send 12 volts to the Starter.
So the problem is either the brake switchs are bad or no juice is getting to them. If no juice is getting to the switchs then trace the wires back they may not be plugged in since a new IGNITION switch was put in.
Also check the wires coming out of the SOLENOID they should be PLUGGED into a wire PLUG from the switchs so follow the the thin wires going into the solenoid and follow those back to the plug and see if the Solenoid is plugged in. Alleyoop

As with any electrical repair, see if spades are snug.Look closely and see that they are in correctly.

Always perform easiest fix first, replace bulb.

Better yet get yourself a 12V LIGHT TESTER cheaper than the bulbs and go to your brake light socket and test tape the Brake on and test the YELLOW and GREEN wire going to the bulb. If it lights its your bulb or bad GREEN GROUND wire going into it. Alleyoop Couple of bucks for this and it is INDISPENSABLE for Testing Wires for Voltage.
