I wonder can you get these with a internal battery of some sort. My charging system works good but I don't want to do anything that will hurt it. Sure would like some tunes though.

actually I am not worried about amp draw ,I got a more powerful battery ,an I will be unhooking the stock stereo when the time comes to hook this up will be right to battery with on off switch,if amps become an issue I will get a more powerful voltage regulater an switch out some bulbs ,,an john had told me about different stator I have certain things wrote down ,an I guess something I can search for later ,for now it just making sure its safe for 100 miles trip ,an like ellpee I have 2 batterys a back up 12ah an the 9ah that came with it ,I may move to 14ah like some of the guys have ,an I also have the 5 or 6 15 amp fuses to replace the Chinese ones ,mabey 20 amps ,an a 20 amp for the round oldfashion one with the square type to the battery,an my carry kit will have extra fuses as well,,got some cooling fans incase ,they only draw like less the 1amp,i also did some research on how much those little amps draw ,not alot ,no more then the stock stereo,an when not using it ,that is a +. Most of that makes pretty good sense as far as my limited understanding, but as regards replacing 15A fuses with 20A, don't think that gives you any extra amperage, just allows more through if the gadgets on the downstream side call for it. As I understand it regarding fuses, you want enough amps but going beyond that gains you nothing. If anything, it might allow something downstream to overheat and melt or blow before the fuse does its intended job and cuts off the juice. That's why, back in the days when I still had hair, folks said it was a bad idea to replace a blown fuse with a penny as a workaround -- pennies never blow, and all you wind up with is a melted toaster. I would tend to think if the factory put in 15A, that's the appropriate "horsepower" for that particular circuit.

I have mine hooked right to battery and it doesn't draw that much power haven't had any trouble put a goggle switch in so when you shut scoot off you can turn the amp off.

yes I think you right richard ,I think ellpee misunderstood what i was saying I have 5 to 6 new 15 amp fuses an the 20amp is just the one to the battery jr said i was good ,couse I am using a more powerful battery ,,I have replaced 15a fuses with 20s before ,its only one fuse not all I got this big box of fuses so actually I can put all the right ones in there I just plan on putting a more power voltage regulater in it about 20 amps ,an yes if turn your tunes off when you arrive turn that back on when your driving away its all good ,as your power is mostly comeing from the more rpms yes toggal switch ,the same with my car amp

Should my Linhai Aelous 300 be ok as far as battery drain with one of these radios?. My charging system works good.

Thanks guys I'm gonna get me one. I carry a spare battery with me anyway. Just for a fallback. Going to start looking at radios. Nothing wrong with a few bells and whistles.

you may live in a place with good reseption ,I don't see any antenna I live in hills wear getting satilite radio is hard ,I did look at it its different then the one on ebay ,I guess for me not enough watts 100 to 200 watts is good for ,not only people to hear you comeing ,but if you wear a helmet I did see a good antenna there though for like $7.00 that ones say 15 watts x2 is 30 watts , the price is good though just not powerfull enough for me .I had 200watt with some nice jenson speakers in a box that mounted on my handle bars ,it was loud ,an very loud ,though now its old an outdated ,I think 100 watts will work for me

I admit to some wonderment at you Boomboxers. At my age my ears are not what they once were anyway, and scooting down the road enveloped in a cloud of heavy metal "music" or any other variety of sounds, factoring in helmet Mrs Ellpee insists on, is only going to worsen my ability to hear horns, sirens, vehicles pulling up in the right lane next to me, etc. I'll leave all that to y'all.

I hear ya ellpee. I don't necessarily want to hear it driving down the road. It would be nice to have when I am stopped and to hear weather broadcast or listen to the game. Heck I cant hear much when I am riding with the wind noise and all. Maybe I just want to " Keep up with the Joneses" so to speak lol.

Me? Heavy metal? Not hardly, unless it's gold ingots. Oldies, big band in small doses, SOME jazz in small doses, SOME classical in small doses, SOME country in small doses, even a dab of opera now and then in small doses. I totally quit following pop music of any kind when it became impossible to understand the lyrics. Blame that partly on my hearing, but mostly on the state of music these days. Anyhow, good luck to all with those monster stereo systems. Not my thing but not my call (or my money).
