Now THAT qualifies as glad tidings. Hope you do find out whodunit so you can file charges. That was the lowest of the low.

I hate winter and nasty weather, but it's been nasty since they stole it so maybe they didn't get a chance to tear it up. Now, I'll have to figure out some way to hide it from the street and also chain it up. It's sad that the world is like this now.

Definitely chain it up, at the worst it will slow them down, at the best they will pass on stealing it. Congrats on its being found, hope it is in good shape.

Impound says they have to hunt down paperwork before they can release it. Might hold it for evidence. Routine traffic stop. It was in a trailer pulled by a truck. Truck, trike, and trailer - all three stolen! Trike might be OK. Might not have to pay impound because the trike is on the impounded trailer. Must be a pretty bad-ass trike if they stole a truck and trailer to get it!

When I first got here, they shot a guy in a stolen pick-up. I think that saves the taxpayers a little money, and he sure won't be a repeat offender!

My daughter, who lives in Texas, sent me one of my favorite tee shirts. It's got an outline of the state with a pistol over it. Reads "We Don't Call 911"
Great news on the recovery, hope the trike is good to go!

Just a quick update. Jerk claims he bought it off the internet. Now I have to wait for a hearing date and drive 90mi round-trip to bring my title and BOS to the judge. Who would buy a vehicle with no title or keys? I cannot abide a liar or a thief. Maybe that's why I'm not impressed with Washington!

Update : Went to the hearing today. The trike is home. A little cosmetic damage and they destroyed the keyswitch. Shot an email off to rapidrepair for that part. It was a theft ring out of El Paso. I got lucky because they found it before they could run it into Mexico.. All 3 were guests here posing as a construction crew. The stolen trailer had $3k-4k worth of stolen property in it plus my trike. Owners of the contents didn't claim their stuff so the owner of the trailer got to keep it all.

That I will, but I bought a D250 RTB_B chopper with springer front end, so I'll take a little time and get her set up first. Very similar to Tha Heist.

The theves left the fuel petcock open. That filled the cylinder with fuel and also let a little drip into the oil. Today I was able to change the oil, charge the battery, and fill her with fresh fuel. She started right up the first hit of the starter! Quick test ride showed that they have just about finished the old axle, but I have the new one under the bed waiting. Other than that and the $92.50 key switch there seems to be no mechanical damage. With the stolen mirrors and the cosmetic damage the total cost to me will be about $200 bucks and now, several hours of labor in paint and such. I got lucky.
The first nice weekend that we have, I'll install that new rear end. The issue I'm having now, is finding a lift point aft of the center of gravity that isn't axle.

You have to lift it right by the Brackets on the swing arm itself. What I do is first left it using my floor jack by the axle then use some wood to hold the Swing arm on both sides. Also put a good size piece of wood or brick front and back of the front wheel. What I do is push the front wheel up against the cement in the garage and then just put a piece of wood on the back of the front wheel. That way it will not roll forward or backward while I am working back there. Alleyoop
