Like all switches so to speak Richard it is just a set of contacts that can get dirty or corroded. Open her up and see if you can spray some contact cleaner on them or can manually clean them.
The switch is very simple.

How does the handle grip come off? I have some dielectric grease, can I put that in there?

Hey richard,I just take those screws out there on each side of the dimmer switch--on bottom--be careful, some parts may have come loose---I will post a pic--take the 2 screws out on bottom of switch assembly and look on the top part... carefully raise up the top part--you will see all of the switch there, including the switch to cancel the turn signal--fflintstone Attachments:

Thanks fflintstone, never had mine apart. My high beams comes on and stays on, if I work it back and forth low beams come on, but won't stay on to long.

Richard, like Fflintstone said, just take the 2 screws out and the switch will just split in 2 halves. After you clean it up dialetic grease is very good for any electrical contact or junction. Like JR said they are a very simple little rocker switch. Barnie

Yup you are right Barnie, and I might add ,the turn signal cancel switch is prone to coming loose..check to see if the 1 little screw that holds it together is loose or even out--mine did it a couple of times, and it got hard to cancel out the turn signal until I opened it up and found the little screw loose--probably should put some loc-tite on it but I never did--good luck ,fflintstone

Richard, my headlites come on when the engine starts, not until which means they run off the stator. When I switch to high beams the low beam stays on also. The best I can tell is there is a main wire comes from stator and splits under dash. One side goes straight to low beam element and the other goes thru the switch on handle bar to the hi beam element which means there could be a break after the y going to low but would leave the hi beam still light. I have 4 wires going to each headlite. Maybe JR or Alley will chime in as they are the experts in the wiring. Have u checked the actual buld sockets and wire leading to them with a test lite to see if there is or isn't power. I had trouble with my tail/stop lites and ended up replacing them.I figured vibration/shock just goofed up the sockets and bulbs. Been ok since. Barnie

Hi Barnie, My scooter is like yours, the head lights comes on when I start scooter, my high beams only comes on if I flip it on. What I did was, took apart again and sprayed contact cleaner in as I was moving switching back and forth from low to high beam, Also took the one screw out which I think was a ground sand papered it and put back in, then started scoot and worked the switch until low beams came back on, since then I've started scoot about four times and so far the lights are coming on and staying on. I'll try to found the plug in front that goes to switch so I can clean them also. (thanks)
