I just bought this scooter from a friend and will take possession of it on Tuesday. My current Jonway YY250T needs some repairs and buying this one helps me to break even on the cost. I ride a Burgman 400, so this one is for the wifey. I'm trying to round up all the names for it: MC-68A-250 (Sticker on it) YY250T-2 Sticker on Back I've found reference to Roketa Venice 250. Any tips on this particular model? Thanks!

They are good runners once you get it setup and running good. Which motor is in there the LINHAI or the HELIX. The LINHAI is HORIZONTIAL MOTOR and the HELIX is VERTICAL motor. Alleyoop

Thanks guys. It's the Honda Engine Clone...part of the reason I got it. Easier to maintain. Paid $750 for it with 1,750 miles on it. Picking it up on Tuesday.

The good thing is I live in Dallas so the Jonway, JCL, and Roketa warehouses are all here. Are the parts that much different?

Use the Rocketa catalog pages I posted to find the name and numbers. Then check with each for the prices. I am not sure how those names work together but I am sure Roketa is mostly a big distrubutor for the US and Canada. Jonway is described on my scoot as the importer. roketapartsdept.com/I have not had to buy anything yet but feel sure Roketa would be where I start for price and delivery, then I will check some local dealers and repair places for their prices and delivery. Some places will work with Chinese scooter folks and others will not. .

Not sure what you mean here. Did you not use the Roketa links I provided above. Plenty of detail for source and prices and part numbers.
If you mean technical information like tune ups, repairs, whatever, just browse these forums for information. If a good post is submitted there will be several that will step in with ideas.
You are in the right place if looking for advice or helps. .

Bob...I did use the links...I mean more like you mentioned here in regard to the "whatever" part. You gave me a great starting point. Going to pick it up today and ride it home. Got some tinkering I want to do this weekend.

I hope your first ride is a good one.
When I bought my MC 54 250 it came in a crate, on the back of a truck. Once the driver got it into my garage he insisted on opening the crate for a look. So we did and I signed off.
Had plenty to do as I had get the police to come and verify that the numbers were correct, listed it to be in my possession, this gave me authority to get insurance, buy plates. I then tore off the plastics and started to check for loose wires, got some new stems for the tires, changed oil and transmission fluids, replaced the coolant mix, and lots of other piddly things like install a battery standby cable so I could plug in the battery when not in use. I really like the battery tender idea so far. .

Now that's a friend. $750 and only 1750 miles on it. Better buy your friend a case of beer or what ever he drinks . Great buy !

yes...it has a few minor issue, but it looks like a couple of fuse replacements and a coolant flush is getting me on the right track. Price was great...he prefers a few lunches every so often...so it is.

the first ride was the ride from his house to mine...~50 miles. Temp went up about the 'H' staying at 65 mph. He said that happens alot.
Acceleration is so smooth. My former YY250T never had this much ease of acceleration...it lagged alot. This scooter is MUCH quieter. No rattling and going 65+ doesn't produce a scooter shaking and vibration. Nice bonus.
So I get home and pull off the side and front panels. My first tinkerings are:
Upgraded the 25W bulbs to 35W. After the 10A fuse blows a couple of times, the 15A fuse does the trick.
Flushed out coolant. Checked hoses and wiring. Ran scooter, still got hot. Discovered the Radiator Fan fuse was blown. Now it gets close the 'H' and will actually go down to the 3/4 mark. Might look at changing the thermostat just for piece of mind.
Pondering other things at the moment, but for now, the lights and the Temp are the two main things.
