Since I heard today that it may be awhile before Zodiacs are available, my radar is again focusing on the Magnum as my summer fun machine. Anybody who has a recent model, what are your experiences and opinions?

Another bit to add to other dealers that are not created equal, they may have left over stock and you will not get the current upgraded one ;D Alleyoop

Thanks for that upgrade link.
Don't all these ultimately come from IceBear anyway? If so, I get the impression they don't have much in the way of old stock languishing in their warehouse. They seem to move them just about as fast as they get them.
As to service, I've checked around, and as far as I've been able to determine there is NOBODY in Tucson, let alone in Ruidoso, New Mexico, who would perform warranty service on Chinese scoots. If I ever have something I can't handle, I'm going to have to get my own parts and then beg the Honda/Harley/Yamaha/Suzuki/whatever dealer to do the work. All the on-line marketers of Chinese scoots are in California, or Georgia, or Wisconsin, or someplace hundreds of miles from where I live and ride. So even if dealer x is light years better than all the others on service, I don't see how that's going to do me much good. My mindset going in is that I'm just gambling, and hoping my luck will be good.

[replyingto=ellpee]ellpee[/replyingto]Yes all Ice Bear machines do come from the Ice Bear Distributor in CA. However, there are some larger dealers that have bought containers of machines and do have stock left over from previous years. Mostly in 150cc machines
Part of what you are paying for is service. Some dealers out there don't offer it. If you have a warranty issue you have to get the parts from the dealer you bought the machine from. Some dealers will give you the run around or not even answer or return your call. Also, what if you need technical advise? The Ice Bear Distributor will refer you back to the dealer you bought it from or me. I do a lot of tech support for Ice Bear for customers who can not get any info from the dealer they bought from. So I do know what I am talking about when it comes to non support from some online dealers.
I will not mention the name of these dealers, because I have a policy not to bad mouth other dealers by name.

Lots to think about, and a lot more money involved that my Roketa. Thanks to all for words of wisdom.
