Working on this for a friend. When I started it would spark 3 times then quit until you disconnected the battery for 10 minutes or so then repeat. It did this over a couple days and then quit sparking all together. ohmed out wires point to point and cant find a bad connection of ground. Any thoughts, its a 2008

Have you check to make sure ignition coil wire going into spark plug cap is tight and the wire on the other end is tight (just a thought), could be a bad ignition coil?

Yeah it has a new cap and wire for the coil and I have 2 cdi's though that's no guarantee of having a good one. However both gave the same symptoms. I having trouble finding a wiring diagram even on this forum to match this bike. Given the various names placed on this unit it is likely i'm looking in the wrong place. According to some generic specs the coil is good. But again generic specs are still a shot in the dark. I'm grasping for anything at this point. A wiring diagram and test numbers for the pick up coil and ignition coil could do wonders

Here's a link to what should be a close diagram. scooterdoc.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=250cc&action=display&thread=4358It';s a really big file and may take a minute to load. I will give my standard advice for this scoot though - check the brown and yellow wire connection going into the CDI harness. I had intermittent stalling issues, intermittent spark issues, and all were traced to that wire not securely attached to the "pin" at the connector.

I was with you on the poor connection however everything ohms out. I realize this of course doesn't take into account current flow. I've tweaked the ends of connectors hoping to at least get a change. The strange thing to me was the 3 spark and no more that I was experiencing initially. It was like clock work. 3 sparks then disconnect the battery for several minutes then it would give 3 sparks again. It was consistant with this until it quit. I have a second CDI which had no change in the no spark condition(didn't check it when it was doing the 3 spark then quit). That second diagram was spot on and everything appears to be getting what it needs although I am getting voltage drop at the CDI when cranking. What are the checks for the coil and pick up?(numbers) I realize checking the CDI directly is out of the question.
