India and China will be the next industrial giants. I have owned scoots made in both countries and also in Taiwan. The Chinese are making strides in quality control, much needed, the Taiwanese overall make scoots as good as the Japanese, and I am pleased with my Stella made by LML in India, basically the old Vespa design, 4 speed, excellent gas mileage and good local dealer support. Hardly Davidson is catching on to a market fact: Make them too expensive and you limit your sales field. Go to countries and set up shop where labor costs can translate into decent quality machines that can be sold here at competitive prices. Another thing that I like about the Stella is that so far I am averaging 120 mpg during break in. Not bad for a 150 cc engine.
