My wires came off my ignition coil on my typical 50cc Chinese scooter and I didn't see where they had been connected. The two wires coming from the spark plug or whatever are yellow/black and green. The two terminals on the coil itself have colored plastic at the point where they emerge from the coil, one is green and the other is black. By referencing the color schemes mentioned, which wire goes where? Read more: thescooterprofessor.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=discussion&action=display&thread=2073#ixzz2CBCWrOx6

I would put the yellow/black to the black and green to green, if it doesn't fire then reverse them.

Thanks, It would be nice to know for sure since I am using my kick-start until my new solenoid arrives in the mail. It's confusing because green is the "new negative" whereas black has always been. The green wire is negative so it's logical to think the green on the terminals is also.

Yep, JR is correct put the green to green(which is ground) and the yellow and black on the other connector. Alleyoop

It was running, then I did some work on it, and now it won't start. The rubber on the spark plug end of the ignition coil came off when I was working on it, and that has been said to affect the connection to the plug. I have a new one coming in the mail.
