Hi, money is no problem... charging the battery IS the problem...
I took these readings:)
Engine warm, idle, R\R not plugged, Yellow = 22 VAC White = 25 VAC Engine warm, half throttle, R\R not plugged, Yellow = 38 VAC White = 40 VAC
Ground between and frame was not too good, bolt not very tight and a lot of paint... all fix now..
Will take readings every thing connected...

Well,,, i think we are getting somewhere, after brushing a few grounds to the metal,,, IT SEEMS TO START CHARGING !!! the R\R becomes warm and the voltage holds...
I might have a weak battery,,,

Please define "voltage holds" What voltage ac off the stator or dc from the regulator (red wire) and what are the voltages ?

Good news and I knew something wasn't right? TV the hi beam indicator light is always on the light switch hooked to the same wire that goes to the hi beam side of the bulb. He's right! It's the dang autochoke! Man am I slow today! This has got to be a misprint!
OK mikk rev her up and check the DC volts on the battery. Even if the battery is weak if she's charging it'll show improvement of 1 to 2 volts from idle to revving it up to 5k rpm or so.

Well... we are getting somewhere...
1.) put battery at 12,5 VDC 2.) Kick start, let warm-up 3.) idle 12.08 VDC, decreasing slowly 4.) Light throttle. 12.15 VDC increase slowly 5.) High throttle, 12.28 VDC, keeps increasing slowly
Sorry for the delay, computer in the garage fuck up on me...

I had to put another battery...
1.) charged it to 13.5 2.) run idle at 11.50 3.) fast throttle at 12.05 4.) let run idle... all the sudden voltage drops to 10.2 vdc and very little increase with a lot of throttle 5.) change the battery... readings pre-post to this one

now it's running fast idle (around 1200 rpm)
charging slowly = 12.17 vdc
R\R very warm...
battery not very good,,, it's an old one that was in my atv...

Number are not good, it should with the 13.5 battery hit 14Vdc easily at 5k RPM. This is a 8 pole stator right? I checked the battery on my Bali and it's at 13.1Vdc and revved up it hits 14.3Vdc with the hi beam lights on with no problem.
I also don't like the stator AC readings, mine easily hits 50Vac with the R/R unplugged.
Take a AC voltage reading on the R/R white and yellow wire to ground with the R/R plugged in and tell me what you have revved up.
