sorry to hear of the demise of cf moto...at least here in the usa....however, i have been around long enough to know....never say never......manufacturers re -surface under new brands/backers.....clones clone the clones ........and the dna lives on..... perhaps the stories we heae on nightly business reports re how unfair the Chinese are re competition/trade and manipulation of the currency are true..... recall hyosung.( though south korean)....who had a nice techno-advanced fleet of scooters......for the price point.....last i heard they are also withdrawing from the usa scooter scene...poor/thin dealer network with little support.... Couldn't have said it any better! JR

As I see it the big problem with scooters here in the good ol USA is that so many people have the idiot idea that big is better as in SUV's, humvees, Harleys, 800lb road crusiers and the likes. The only "scooters" the big boys want to sell us aren't scooters but motorcycles with a auto trans. in disguise. Other countries have the luxuries of many choices of mid sized scooters that are still a scooter. A few months ago I would have traded a broken majesty for a broken helix or cfmoto clone even up with out a second thought. I was out to purchase a 300 linhai when I gave up, those on the net who had one in white would not ship with title so I got impatient and walked into a yamaha dealer. big mistake. All I ever wanted is a simple scooter that could be ridden on the highway with a little head room for speed that a 150 does not have and never will no mater what you do to it. . john

John that just about sums it all up in one paragraph. It seems a lot of them have forgot the true definition of a scooter? Scooter = step through, motorcycle = step over and it doesn't matter what transmission they have.

Ow, transmission makes a big difference when you like lightweight and small!
The simpler the transmission the better. In fact, give me a 2 or 3 step transmission, over a more expensive 5 step anytime, just as long as the first and final gear are the same.

Scooter = step through, motorcycle = step over and it doesn't matter what transmission they have. So these must be scooters then. I can step through them. Are they still scooters with a four speed foot shift, chain drive and seventeen inch spoke wheels?

I wouldn't call those scooters. I would call a scooter..... one that has a flat floor board from one side to another. Those in the picture could be mounted easier by the same method as mounting a motorcycle. Scooters started out with a board and 2 wheels, one of which could be steered, that you stood on with one foot and kicked the ground with other to make it move. The modern razor scooters copy that. I had one when I was 5 or 6. I am going to be 70 this month and I detest having to drag my foot over the top of the damn hump on that majesty I mistakenly bought as a scooter. As far as I am concerned a yamaha majesty is NOT a scooter. Its a morphadite You talk about miss misnomers look at all the power chairs they call a scooter. (when the jerk from obama care comes to see me about getting me a scooter the first thing I will have to say is how many cc is the engine) john

Oh that's a easy one KZ! Won't even bother to post the recall link that even the idiots at Washington DC. did to make CfMoto understand the difference between a motorcycle and a scooter and if you probably look a little KZ you can find out how much the recall cost them to put it in it's right category. Shall I also list a few pictures of true scooters that are chain driven? Never have see any specs saying wheel size mattered on a scooter but if it does then the E-Charm gets the boot too with it's "sixteen" inch wheels and the list goes on. But if I was betting on the two you have pictured above people would guess either way on what they are and not be wrong either way? But no one had that problem with the V3 or V5 did they? Except yours truly CfMoto. BTW those are some very nice looking bikes/scooters seriuosly and how much will one set a fellow back? I could see myself easing around the little winding streets of a little town like Eureka Springs in the fall and putting a little basket on one to carry gifts and what nots on. JR

The first motor scooter I had was a 58 wards branded mitsubishi silver pigeon with cvt transmission and a CHAIN drive off the clutch on a jack shaft.

Bwahaha! The idea just popped in my mind, that Chinese scooters are just chainsaws on wheels!
Though, that's not true, but it might be cool to just buy a chainsaw, and install it on a bike or something!
