Sometimes it all seems to hit at once. What kind of vehicle do you drive? On my 93 Silverado the clutch master cyclinder is external and fairly easy to replace without pulling the transmission.
I had to replace it about 3 years ago. During this past winter I had to replace the starter for the first time and man that was a chore. Like to never got the bolts broke loose. Even though we had a mild winter it went out on a old cold rainy day and it wasn't fun.

Yep. Been there done that. Remember to disconnect the slave line at the clutch master cylinder. It's a horrid pain (nearly impossible) to disconnect that line from the slave with the trans still in the vehicle. It's held on with a roll-pin in the body of the master cylinder.
Aside from that annoying line, the slave is a pretty easy trans drop. I'd change the clutch too if you can. Hydraulic fluid gets all over the clutch disc and pressure plate.
Oh yes : get a 5.5mm 1/4 socket. You're gonna need it to get that annoying shifter boot off.
