OK Rangerdave. Awesome pics! Now let's look at this stator and unless you actually see something wrong then there is no need to buy the stator flywheel? Let's look at this one from PFS, it's a popular 2T stator for a Minarelli 1PE40QMB scooter: .partsforscooters.com/Stator_assy_50cc-2" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.partsforscooters.com/Stator_assy_50cc-2•Bolt Hole Spacing: 104mm •7 Coil •Wire Length: 12 inches •3 plugs: 2 single & 1 triple female •Base Diameter: 118mm •Inner Diameter of Center Hole: 27mmNow here is the matching flywheel: .partsforscooters.com/Magneto_50cc-2?sc=9&category=490" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.partsforscooters.com/Magneto_50cc-2?sc=9&category=490•Mounting Hole ID: Tapered hole 16.5 at its largest, 14mm at smallest •Diameter: 101 mm •Width: 38 mm •Inside Diameter: 82 mm •Fan 3 Bolt Hole Spacing: 42 mm •Fan Bolt Thread Size: M6x1.0As you can clearly see both will work on some measurements but won't on others so it's apparent you don't have the typical 1PE40QMB scooter? Now you didn't measure the OD of the stator coils but by looking at the ID of your magneto flywheel it's going to be around 80mm I'm sure. So now that we have a set of specs to go by we can start looking for this thing. Now if we can find just a coil that will bolt up to your back plate and be the right number of coils and OD we can do that too. You'll also see that this stator is the typical 5-wire set up but if a 6-wire one is all that is going to fit then so be it? Now we need additional measurements: OD of the stator coil ID of the center hole of the coil Center to center of the two bolt holes of the coil Shaft ID of the magneto flywheel from the smallest point (outside) and largest point (inside). Now when we do find this you can decide if you're going to buy another coil and CDI, my thought is you don't need to but that's up to you? I'm also going to email a couple of friends on this one and I've got a lot of canning to do today.........again but I will between cooker fullls work on this. My wife gets up at 4:00 a.m. to go to work so I've been up too and I just took out 10 jars of homemade picante sauce made fresh from all the things I grow and I've figured out how to duplicate Pace her favorite, now if I can just duplicate this stator! Good morning JR, I hope you are having a wonderful day. I have those measurements for you.
OD of the stator coil is: 79.71mm ID of the center hole of the coil is: 27.65mm Center to center of the two bolt holes of the coil is: 37.85mm Shaft ID of the magneto flywheel from the smallest point (outside)is: 11.80mm Shaft ID of the magneto flywheel from the largest point (inside) is: 14.65 My measurements are probably not exact but real close, its been awhile since I have used a digital caliper.
I would like to use the new 5 wire CDI that I already have because it is unlimited if we can. I think because of the poor quality of the new coil I will get a new Bando or Hoca performance coil.

the plate that the stator bolts too can it be bolted up with the pickup coil in two def anlges if so try it in the oppisite location and see if that helps

No sir. The stator coils have an offset in the ID and the plate has a recess so the coil can only bolt in one way. the plate only has two bolt holes as does the engine case, so it can only go in one way also. the pickup does have slots so that the gap between the pickup and flywheel can be adjusted, but it is the only piece that has any kind of adjustment.

OK Rangerdave I finally got some time away from the stove and canning. Man I've put some stuff up today! I think it's possible this is your stator assembly and it's from a seller that the listing has expired but I'm sure we can find it listed. Now this is what is confusing? and look at the listing and specs; .ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&item=190648589915&nma=true&rt=nc&si=9X1XX9mF1HHrp076vrQWk1YsRBc%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&item=190648589915&nma=true&rt=nc&si=9X1XX9mF1HHrp076vrQWk1YsRBc%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=ncThis is a stator magneto for Yamaha Jog 50cc and 90cc 2 stroke scooters.
It will fit any bike that uses engine number 1E40QMB .
The central hole measures 28mm. Outer diameter of coils is 80mm. the distance between the fixing holes is 103mm and the complete diameter of the plate is 117mm . Now the fixing holes of 103mm is picture #5 on page 5 and your caliper is showing 97.96mm but if you look at the way you have it inserted from what I see this is not C to C yet it's inside to inside of the hole? I believe it is possible that it is 103mm or 104mm like the one listed above from PFS? Now PFS say center hole of 27mm and this one says 28mm and your measurement says 27.65mm so I don't think this is a problem with either of them.? Now you show the OD of the baseplate at 118mm and so does PFS but this one is 117mm and I don't think this is an issue either unless it effects the pick up coil spacing to the flywheel but it appears that is adjustable and we're only talking 1mm. Now neither of them list the measurements of the stator bolt holes that bolt the stator coil to the baseplate and that is another measurement we need on picture #8 on page 5. The reason I'm saying this is because if the coil and pickup coil is apples for apples and the new base plate is not we could bolt the new stator coil to the old baseplate. PFS does not list the OD of the stator coil but if you call them you can find out. But the other people list theirs as 80mm OD and you're flywheel ID is 80.88 ID by your measurements and that should fit. Now there is another reason to maks sure we have the right stator assembly and it's because at this point I haven't even got close to a new flywheel, reason is your shaft size. So we may have to stay with it? Now this stator on Ebay? Same 6-wire hook up as your OEM one. What's confusing is both places say for 1E40QMB yet the PFS stator is the 5-wire like you want. I do not believe your scooter to be 1E40QMB. Let's remeasure the bolt holes on the backplate and see if it is truly what you measured the first time at 97.96mm C to C and go from there. Also why don't you call PFS and ask the OD of the 5-wire stator coil and the holes C to C measurements that bolts it up to the back plate. You may want to measure the pick up coil bolt spacing too just to be sure. Going to keep looking and we'll figure it out. JR

I called Curtis Parts and after talking with them I ordered the new stator and housing. Now we wait some more.

Rangerdave there are just a few differences and I'm not totally sure on them all but in my research I'm finding that the difference mainly between 1E40QMB and 1PE40QMB is the 1PE40QMB model generally has the 6 wires yet the model Curtis lists as a 5 wire? But I see by your stamp you have the 1E40QMB scooter so there is no doubt about that? Sometimes you find the Chinese can throw curves at you that you just have to figure out as you go. JR

I am convinced that the new 6 wire CDI was defective from the factory. I believe we had our wiring correct, but as hard as they are to find I feel better changing over to the more common 5 wire setup. Are the Stator and housing that I ordered the correct ones to get this thing running ? Is the R/R on my scooter the one we need ?

Just for Shits and giggles I thought I would post a few pics of the Golf Cart I built a few years back, we drive this in the subdivision where we have a place over on Ky. lake.I found this thing in a junk pile. It was driven into a pond where it sat for 8 months under water. Motor had a hole in the case where she sucked water and threw the rod through the block. It has a 6 inch lift long travel front end with coil over nitrogen filled shocks , Liquid cooled V twin Kawasaki engine, high performance Comet clutches 1 1/16 drive belt , 1500 Torque spring, floor shifter , steering column mounted ignition switch, and you can see a lot of the stainless and diamond plate goodies, stereo, neon lights underneath, 12 in. ITP wheels with knobby tires and a lot of other stuff. Hope yall get a kick outta it. I know this is a scooter forum, but while waiting on parts I thought I would do a little show and tell lol.
