This is just 6 gallons of strawberries and a few jars of strawberry jam I've made in the last two weeks. Picked a total of 10 gallons today, 5 gallons in the fridge waiting to be put up and I picked 12 gallons last Saturday. One thing is nice, it's not hard to sell them! Over all I've picked over 30 gallons of these and they're about half done. I've also got good quality healthy strawberry plants for sale, put them out now or in the fall and have berries next spring. Won't be long until peaches are ready, then plums, blackberries, blueberries, cherries, pears and apples right behind them. going to make a big batch of home made apple butter this year. I'm hoping for apricots next year, my trees are getting big enough to produce. Oh I forgot raspberries are ripeniong too.! JR

My apricot tree is loaded this year. That don't happen very often. It usually blooms out in Jan or Feb, then the frost comes and kills the blossoms. You have just about every thing that is good....except pears....they taste like someone cloned them out of sweet sawdust! I have a tomato with a blossom on it too. I know one fellow who has a small tomato on his around here. And the plant is not big enough to support the weight of it. You are just far enough south to get all the early fruit in. That beats going to walmart to buy mexican produce. john

John it was a good year on not losing blooms to the cold but my apricot trees are now just two years old and from what I've gathered the third year is when they come on. I'll agree on the pears but they were here when I bought this place and my kids love them, but I'm not a fan. TV they will ship well in a good small ice chest and I sent some to my kids in Dallas last year but I like to have fainted on the postage. Almost could have bought the gas and went as cheap. No pesticides, I plant marigolds they drive off stuff that like strawberries heck a goat won't even eat a marigold! MC if mama won't kill me I'll see if I can get her to give up a jar of that jam! Man you always have a little left over from the pot and yesterday I had a big pan of hot buttered biscuits ready and smothered them in that still warm fresh jam, I can still taste it today it was soooooooo good! No Boric Acid!!!! Remember that stuff is for people who only want 14k on their scooter! JR

Ok, I'm jealous. One thing about Florida is alot of my favorite fruits don't grow well here. I do have all the citrus and persimmons you could ever want. Also small quantities of loquat, lychee, carambola, jaboticaba, mango, avocado, and mulberry. I do have a couple peach and pear trees that are supposed to grow here but they never fruit much and the various bugs mildews and molds get those. I also live on the top of what thousands of years was a sand dune. My soil(if you can call it that) is pure white sand with less than 10% organic matter and some things just will not grow in it.at my old house collard greens grew out of control, here I have some plants five years old that are less than a foot tall. On the other hand, I can wear shorts and flip flops in December

John Seems like John it was around $27 to Dallas. Here's what we can do if you really want some berries; My son sent back the set up that I mailed these berries to him in; I found a nice little cooler at the Dollar Store it was a Igloo "Ice Cube" brand and the ID was perfect for a gallon of fresh berries in the gallon ice cream buckets I save to pick in. The ID of the cooler is about 9"W X 9"L X 9"H and actually I could measure out a gallon of berries and put them in a zip lock gallon bag and I believe the chest would easily hold two gallons. I pick the berries ripe and fresh, put them in the fridge overnight to get them nice and cool and I also pack a frozen blue ice pack with them to keep them nice and cool on the journey for best freshness. I then put the chest in a box packed with the styrofoam peanuts which also helps insulate the berries. I sent his on two day delivery and they arrived perfect and got to watch vidoes of grandkids eating them. Federal Express does deliver and pick up at my house in the country so you could buy this set up get a price to ship it to my house and also include a retrun shipping label from FedEx and just add about 6lbs to the return box postage. sometimes they go by just the box size and have a weight range and sometimes they want weight specific? BTW the berries are $9 a gallon and you could also put the payment in the box you send me. Again in a chest this size I can put two gallons. By doing it this way you will also get all of your items like the freeze pack and ice chest back for using yourself in the future. If you are interested let me know and I'll Pm you a address. We would want to send them on a Monday or Tuesday to insure they don't set at a terminal all weekend long. JR
