(Insert deity of choice) has taken it upon him/herself to rain elephant sized mounds of dung on me today! Just been one of those days, 6 hours spent trying to return a new camcorder that broke (just stopped working), and tried booking the burger in for its first service and no answer all day from the dealer. Turns out they folded. Worse news is another dealership picked up the franchise and based on previous experience of their mechanic they will go near my scoot when satan iceskates to work as pigs circle an azure moon. I figure I'll wrench it myself, until I'm reminded our HOA won't let people work on their vehicles as it degrades property values or something. Just one of those days! I have to laugh, at least nothing serious happened!

Got to love amazon, k&n oil filter, reusable k&n air filter and an iridium plug all for 50 bucks. Throw in 11 bucks worth of oil and I saved about 200 bucks on the service and got a better oil filter and a spare plug. Many thanks to all on this forum for all the help and encouragement! When fate gives you muck, grow roses! (or rhubarb, tastes better!)

Alleyoop Aye, Jam tomorrow as Mr Pratchett would say. Might just be bread tomorrow but theres always the chance of jam tomorrow! I think it officially falls under the category of an emburggance rather than anything serious. Just my luck, I opted for the suzuki because there was a dealer rather than say a CFMoto where we don't have a local dealer. Such is life, between here, youtube and patience I shouldn't have an issue with it. The HOA can please themselves as the rule actually states no car maintenance so I'm guessing bikes are ok lol. Failing that a relatives house will do. Another local dealership has picked up the franchise but they are the folks whose mechanic put the fuel filters in backwards, didnt connect the autoenricher and routed the headlight cables so tightly they snapped when you turned the handlebars so whilst they have picked up the mech from the suzuki place I won't be going to them for minor stuff, just if I need help with anything big and I can be sure to get the suzuki certified mech. In one way I appreciate the kick up the ass to do this myself the situation provided. Itsd awesome to have such a wonderful place to come for advice as well!

if i am paying for the place that i live in i would not let some BS HOA tell me what i can do and what i can not do on my properity i can see where their is concern that a vehicle being on blocks would be a concern but if i need to service something i own on my properity i will

If you live in a HOA community, YOU WILL abide by the rules... that's what your paying for ( I couldn't put up Christmas lights in a condo I was renting) Anyway, I can't believe it took 6 hours to exchange a camcorder that won't record that long ( see the irony) I am told days like this build character or, set off a murder rampage......... I'm glad your quite the character I have No HOA but, recently learned by state law I can't park a car in my own driveway without registration...... Go figure. I feel your pain but, tomorrow is a new day....

I have No HOA but, recently learned by state law I can't park a car in my own driveway without registration...... Go figure..
Ouch, private property is private property! The gubermnt has no business what you do with your property on your property! In england you get a SORN (statutory off road notice) similar to surrendering your plates, I seem to remember a case of a car being taken from a driveway because the rear quarter overhung the sidewalk. You get those types of people everywhere unfortunately! Re the HOA, normally I would agree, you makes your choice and takes the rough with the smooth but ours is a piece of work. The buildings manager is awesome, such a nice guy. The board and management company is another matter, it took us over a year to get a copy of the rules (one of our plant pots infringed a ruling on the colour of plant pots! it wasn't an obscene colour, just a dark brown), when we did we were amazed to find that we were both obliged to keep our parking spaces clean AND forbidden from cleaning them lol. We have many such wonderful rules. We also have a resident bored old man who is desperate to get hold of the warning tickets so he makes his own. He tried to get me to move our moving truck when we moved in (14', so not huge) because it was parked in his friends spot, fine until I pointed out the spot was vacant because his friend must have moved out as the appt it belonged to was for sale, we know because we had checked it out and referred a friend to it a few days previously. I am currently trying to get him onside on the issue of dog \ cat mess. I figure he is just a lonely bored old man, might be useful for something. Oh he did try to ticket me for parking two bikes in my own stall because one was parked 90 degrees offset to the other. Both entirely within the stall and the only car nearby was ours. haven't figured that one out yet either? Does having vehicles not parked in the same direction reduce property values? Anyway, yes, normally I think HOA's aren't bad, but they can get horrendous. Just ordered the service manual for $30 delivered. Might be a copy but the guy seems legit enough, he has loads of others if anybody is interested, will report back when mine arrives in a couple of weeks. Really looking forward to wrenching on the beastie!
