Yep, the big CrankSeal in the picture is the one behind the Variator which is the one that is probably leaking. Alleyoop

could it be too much oil and a full blow by hose? friend told me a guy let his hose fill up and didnt drain it had too much oil and his air box was full of oil. just wandering theres a vent hole in bottom of my air box with another went hole in the top of CVT to keep it cool, I would think if the air filter box was full of oil it would leak into the CVT??? a thought?

Lazerorca, That just happened to me I think it was last thursday(HAHA). Read this: thescooterprofessor.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=discussion&action=display&thread=1271It will take you more time to clean the oil out because you will need to take the CLUTCH Off the Variator of course and Clean it all out otherwise your belt will be slipping. I used DEGREASER to clean it out. First I got a bunch of paper towels and cleaned it with that to pick up most of the oil then soaked some towels and clean it again to get the oily residue left. I also put on a new belt. The Seal if it happens to be sticking out a little your lucky, get a tiney flat screwdriver I used the little ones that you use to tighten up your glasses and work it out. Then clean the shaft and the inside where the seal fits in and just SLIP the seal on easy as pie. LIke I said the hard part is cleaning the mess up. Alleyoop

try to find a bearings inc near by, and yes scrappy dog should have thoes parts but just as you said they will want to knot the right size or you might try some of the scooter shops those seals are a pritty common size and is the same in many of the scooters that have your motor in them best of luck travler 1

I have an incredibly stupid question to ask... how do I get to this seal? it looks as if I am going to need an impact wrench to get this stuff off. i took the CVT cover back off and i am at the point of the pictures I took when it comes to disassembly.

I bought an impact wrench from harbor freight friday. As for what I need to do next, I am a bit unsure of. I got the variator off off of the front... I'm looking at the seal and I swear it looks like there is a gummy, silicon looking substance around it. There is also no gasket for the CVT cover. I forgot to mention this earlier. This scooter had a previous owner : here is a pic of what I see. What should I do from here???

HAHAHA, looks like the previous owner had a leaking seal and either did not know how to put in a new seal or was to cheap to buy one and put it in and put silicone to stop it from leaking. The way I do it is get those little screw drivers under the seal next to the crank and rotate it as your pulling on it . Its a pain in the ass but it works for me. I am going to get a seal puller to make my life easier next time. All it is really is a flat piece with a little hook on the end and you slip it under the seal against the crank and turn it a little so it hooks the seal. You can make one out of a small screwdriver if you had a grinder.
Another thing that will work good is one of those Dentist metal Hooks that they use to pick at your teeth(HAHA). Alleyoop

i am just afraid I am going to mess something up. I tried to screw a wood screw in it and pull it out with pliers, but the screw wouldn't break through the seal at all haha... can I get a seal puller from an auto parts store? can I use a corkscrew?

I have tried everything suggested for getting this damn thing out. it just won't budge. are there any other options besides taking it out? The PO had some sort of sealant on it. I figure I can just do that for now. If it starts leaking again, I'll just put more on it. it is fairly easy to get to.
