got my new tack put it on scooter is ideling at 1300 sounds good and ideling nice and somth if i start to drop it to 1000 to 1200 it starts to buck up alittle and idel starts getting rough below 1000 she really gets rough altho it still idels, below900 it wants to idel for a bit then stop, this is after ajusting mixture screw and idel screw many times to get a nice idel it just wants to idel at 1300 and nicely at that, also the back wheel doesnt engage until 3000 to 3200 rpm does this sound right? next changed the cdi still ideling at 1300 decided to open it up could not go wot as at 3/4 t it was tacking 8200 to 8400 and rising, never got to wot was getting a little scary so i let off, idel went down to 1260 then back to 1300 and was fine after doing this i noticed a ratteling sound in the trans while ideling seemed to be comming from tne new varitor and new 12g rollers, took it apart and mesured the rollers diameter and sure enough the rollers are smaller in diam than any others i have wheather lighter or heavyier at idel speeds the 12g rollers are ratteling in the varitar, have new 13g sliders on the way, does this sound right and has anyone had this happen ? all this was done while it was on its stand, running free, havent road tested it as of yet, travler !

Something is not right...the back wheel should engage at about 1800++rpms could be the weights could be the tach...
Don't be running the engine at 8200+ rpms on the center stand!!! you will ruin the engine or put a piston through the head...
These engines need LOAD...

It all depends on the Springs you have on the Clutch Pads. I have my trike engaging at right around 2200-2300 and Idles at 1500-1600. It used to engage at over 3000 rpms but changed out the Clutch springs to lighter ones, to engage at lower rpms. Alleyoop

Alley and s procket, hey guys what say ,should i move the idel up to 120 and re ajust again so the wheel comes in at 1800 if yous would think it would be better, i can do this im getting pritty good at dialing this scoot in, alittle here, some there, some cable adjust, keep checking the tack, and In There she is, ill tell you that little tack is every thing when your setting these little engines up this seems to be the best its ever ran , after i here back from you im going to move on back to the variator and re do that till ita at its max pre formance , theres still a lot of room for that belt to move up leaving the stock clutch alone it seems to be working vary well . oh by the was after the load tets i took it out sor a short ride on the flsts shes up to 53.5 mph if i get it to 55 ill be happy, wanted 60 but ill settel for 55 travler 1

Nice going Travler1, yea If you still have 1/4 or more left on the Variator you can get it to 55mph try the next Heavier Gram weights to push the belt up more.
As far as the IDLE RPMS you can bring them up JUST AS LONG as the rear wheel is not spinning. You want the idle set so that after it is nice and warm the WHEEL JUST WANTS to start to move on the center stand or wherever it wants to IDLE the smoothest. Alleyoop
