Well, I would think it to be loose like 5W when it is cold and tough like 50W when it is hot and working.
Is this an aircraft grade oil? .

Chris on the motor oil right now with it warming up use a 10W/30W quality oil, no synthetic. I use Castrol with no problems from Wallly world.
Gear case? any quality 75W to 90W gear oil in the bottles with the spout. I use again a oil from Wal Mart. Mobile, castrol etc.
In the hot summer here I use a 20W/50W oil in the engine again Castrol.

Price i sell my oil at my store runs from $6.00 for a quart of Valvoline 4 stroke oil to $12.00 for Amsoil Synthetic scooter oil. same price i sell it online. usually the castrol 4stroke oil i have seen at autozone runs about $4.99 and i have heard good things about it.
