In a flurry of disassembly and taking about 20 screws out, I got the windshield off and the dash and gauges apart. I cleaned everything really well, it needed it. The clear plastic gauge covers were and are turning yellow.
Anyway, I found the problem. There's a metal arm that holds the end of the clock spring for the speedometer needle, and it was blocking the 10's digit from turning. I bent it a bit (yes, I know this can affect the speedometer accuracy) and the trip odometer now works fine. I found how to remove the trip odometer assembly from the speedometer, and oiled it well with WD-40 several times, and cleaned it with simple green afterwards to get the excess oil off.
It turns nice and smooth now! I also oiled the hell out of the speedometer cable with WD-40.

I just had the rear valve stem blow out on my Jonway YY250T / Viva MP250RO. Ruined a new Pirelli rear tire, as I was miles from home and kept riding before I realized the problem. The scooter was feeling weird, the rear end was squirming around on me, and the scooter didn't want to lean into turns, but like a DUMBASS I kept going.
Both valve stems got changed the next day for $7.41 total cost at a tire shop. The guy who sold me the scooter gave me a new tire with it, so it went on also.

I have a Viva MP250RO (Jonway YY250T), and I got it with 2650 miles on it, it is a 2007 model.
I'm now over 2900 miles, but the trip odometer is messed up. It'll run smoothly up to 9.9 miles, but then the numbers will just stop there. I have watched it and they try to turn but then bounce back slightly. The tens digit never moves off of 0.
I can reset it, and it'll work fine up to 9.9 miles again, then it stops there.
Is the trip odometer busted, or is there just some part sticking in there? Also, I need a diagram on how to take the speedometer assembly out. I tried once, but couldn't get the base plastic piece off the handlebars, because some snapped in piece of plastic around the key hole wouldn't come off.

My Jonway YY250T (Viva MP250RO), has the same problem, the fan comes on WAY too early and never lets up. It comes on before the gauge gets to the 1/4 mark. I installed a switch on the handlebars to break the circuit so the fan cannot turn on unless I allow it to.
I was hoping that ram air blowing through the vents behind the front wheel would be enough, but no, the radiator doesn't get enough air forced through it like that. Even on cool days the temp will slowly climb over several miles, and I'll have to turn the fan on to cool it off.
What is the normal operating temperature for the 244cc engine? If the gauge really does read 1/2 way at 180 degrees, I'm comfortable with that, I have extensive automotive experience and 180-200 is a normal temperature for high performance engines. Yes, this is a Chink scooter I'm dealing with, but I don't know why they wouldn't aim for 180 or so on it to be a normal temperature.
I also have a charging system problem, and I felt that the fan being constantly on was taking power from the battery. But that's another story.
