I just got off the phone with alleyoop. He says you r the elec. guru.I also just read the above reply by you.I have been working on it for a few hours today, and at this point the sidestand switch is malfunctioning enough so it doesn't affect the scooter's running at all.It will start with it down or up and will continue running if you put it down without affecting the engine at all. So I unplugged it. Something new also that I noticed today, is that the 3 yellow wires that come from the stator and go to the rec/regulator heat up more n more as it runs. any thoughts on this. After a few minutes of running they were the consistency of cooked spaghetti and quite warm to the touch. The scoot still doesn't want to start electrically.and when it does fire it is just as I let off the starter switch.not during the cranking.Something is still wrong. Could you send me your phone # so we could talk, I'm not much of a typist! thanks Larry

after
i started it by kicking and it ran for several minutes it would start electrically, but i noticed it still wanted to fire only when start switch was being released or when first touched.
When I got it running by kicking it,it would start electrically, but I noticed that it still only wanted to fire as the starter switch is being released or when first touched. Seems you could sit there and grind away and it wouldn't fire until the instant it is released. Seems like I remember a similar situation with old Chrysler products that had a bad resistor block that acted that way,or they would fire as the starter was running but quit when you released it? If I ever get this thing fixed I think I'll PAWN it and never look back!! Any idea what a cdi box costs for a daelim? if one can be bought?

OK here's the latest.. went back out and tried to start it elec. ..nothing. so for the first time today I kicked it. vroom, first kick it was running. I let it run for a while as I checked some things, and found that disconnecting the side stand switch by unplugging it has no effect on it whatsoever. but if you plug it in and put the sidestand down it continues to run,but poorly. The kill switch on the handlebar must break the circuit when activated cause it kills it when you unplug it. Gotta go 4 now, more thoughts later....

Well... I've been working on my p.o.s. all afternoon. I actually got it to start with the starter once, but it wouldn't rev up and died and won't restart.I have 80% of the plastic off so I can see what I'm doing. The strange part is that my bike has more wires in 2 places than the wiring diagram shows. I bought a new multi meter, mine quit working, but I don't seem to know how to use it. The bike has spark, but it seems weak. I can barely see it even with my glasses on.Whenit started but wouldn't rev up today it was running like it did with the kickstand down previously.then died.I'm getting frustrated

OK I have the manual tucked away in here somewhere again. Don't worry, my wife will find it. she can find most anything!!!Hoping to work on the scoot this weekend. Keep your fingers crossed. At least now I have some info to work with. Oh,the shop that I had work on it before, The "mechanic" ,Didn't even know how to start it. He didn't know that you have to pull a brake lever to start it. It used to crank without the handle being pulled, but not any more.

Well you've answered one question I had. the kickstand switch makes the circuit when it is up. The funny thing is that when it is running andI put it down,it only runs poorly but doesn't kill.put it up and it runs good with power. This weekend I'll try all the good advice and get back to you. thanks

It would start kicking it,until I added some grounds. But I didn't fool with it much after that. I may have something grounded that shouldn't be. I will try to mess with it again tomorrow to get fresh answers. It always would start with the kick down kicking or starter. Kick stand is in the way when kicking so I put on center stand. #3 you are correct. #4 mostly stalls at lights, stop signs, etc. After youv'e been running The cdi is more similar to illus.#2 I think. The kill switch part has 2 wires really but my diagram shows only oneand it is like the a/c bottom illus. By the way the scooter is a history model 125 cc

Thanks for moving my story to the proper category. I'm not "college " educated so I misunderstood. Sorry. The starter cranks scoot don't start,When it runs it runs good. except for stalling issue.

Hi larry from Lecanto, Fl. Bought this scooter last may,ran good for first month .Stopped running with my wife and I on it. Hasn't been right since.Had it checked out by a local shop. they replaced a large diaphram in the carb and had it starting by kick. It won't start with the starter. Sometimes it would start w/starter after it had been running by kick. They said the problem was in the wiring since all components checked out OK. Said it starts first kick,so since I couldn't afford any more diagnosis I took it with intention to kick start it. But, it stalls at intersections when I come to a stop.Have to put it on center stand and kick the s--- out of it. Not very Handy!!!One thing it did lately as I was trying to figure it out,was fire when I let off the starter button or when I first touch it. But not start. It has spark when cranking or kicking seems to be about the same intensity. I've checked all grounds I can find. I even added a ground to the frame and a second ground on all components that had anything to do with start/run ability. No help. The scooter isn't supposed to start with the kick stand down, but it would. No power but it would start.According to the wiring diagram there's only one wire coming out of the cdi box that has to do with the safetys. When really there are 2, A green w/wt tracer that changes to a green w/blk tracer isn't shown on the diagram. I haven't tracked it down yet. Is there an easy way to eliminate the safety circuit to see if its the problem? Will unplugging it from the cdi do it? It has been suggested that I pull the flywheel and check the wiring on the stator esp. the ground. Haven't had a chance to do that yet. Was sick all weekend.Getting real frustrating! Any thoughts??? Larry
