your right about the color, it may change but pretty sure whatever color they use, if it is three phase they use the same color for the three phases. yours are orange, but all three are orange so it still pans out. and there be a pic (your post) of a twelve pole stator (i mentioned on the other forum). damn i wish it were easy to find schematics of these things. Yes, Orange/Yellow or even NEON pink, they will serve the same function. But you have to remember that we are not the only ones that read these boards... There could be a newbie that knows very little and spends a whole day looking for yellow wires and simply doesn't make the connection of different colors... I learned very quickly on these boards to be very careful about giving definitive advice such as Pink cable on all scooters serve X function... These scooters are so different that you can take two from the same manufacturer and find all kind of differences.... When I make a reply/post, I consider who else may be reading it.... If you go back to the thread on it's the ride, you will see in post # 2 I linked to a picture of 11 pole and a 12 pole.... I tried explaining then that your only two choices are those two stators if your wanting 3 phase.... For the stators, you shouldn't need a schematic.... The only diff in the 12 and 11 is DC and AC... Your AC (11 pole) has a dedicated coil/pole for your CDI.... As far as the R/R, last night I went out and googled the heck out of R/R's trying to get an understanding of how the black wire works. What I have found is that wire color isn't all it's cracked up to be.... If you stick with a GY6 R/R, and show me a pic, I can tell you the pinout.... But motorcycle R/R's can be completely different.... Here's an example of a way to hook a R/R that is not common to the GY6 but yet, you probably could jury rig it to work.

just like all other full wave rectifiers it has three wires colored the same(amazing) meaning exactly as the others do. My Bintelli R/R does not have any wires/pins, it's a plug.... The wires coming from the stator are not yellow, they are orange, my harness wires are also orange (amazing huh?), that's why I did not want to say all are yellow. I am not sure, but it may be that it measures the current like an ammeter and tells the R/R when to apply more current..... Like I said, I can not tell you exactlly how it works.... Only that I hooked it up per the wiring diagrams and it works.... Without the black wire it was over charging... So, if you find an answer, be sure to share because I'm sorting taking a WAG on this one....

for some reason i can't get my attachment button to do anything but the 5 wire is 3 yellows, one red and one green. i believe it's meant for an older honda 700cc something. Ok, so while i understand what you are saying for the Acc wire but....when does this happen? are they constantly alternating, meaning does it stop charging then read voltage - then charge but not check for a certain time. whats confusing is that while charging, the Acc wire is going to read the charging voltage so it would always think it has a good charge The 5 PIN R/R you're talking about, if it's for a 700cc and not a typical GY6 R/R, it may work completely different. Wire colors can at some times be completely meaningless. I would need to see a wiring diagram or possibly I could tell from a pic, but that's iffy... I'm familiar with a few styles of GY6 125/150cc R/R's, but that's all I've explored so far. As far as how the black DC sense wire works, I'm not exactly sure... The wiring diagram listed it as 12v DC Acc sense wire.... The black wire monitors the voltage and/or current flow and dictates how much juice is sent to battery, exactly how it does that, I'm not sure..... I can add this: I did start the scooter with black wire unhooked and the multi meter could not get any voltage reading... 0.00 on the black wire. Then I put the multi meter on the the battery and watched as she warmed up,... After 10~15 min, my voltage climbed to about 15Volts. I shut the scooter off, hooked the black sense wire into ignition on switch wire (in my harness it's black).. Restarted and I stayed constant at 14.4v.

great post. quick question, is there any difference between the two hot wires? one to the batt. and one to the key sw.? as in, does it realy matter which is which? and what of five wire regulators? only one hot, so would that go to batt. or key and is that the switched (non hot side) or unswitched side? sorry that became 3 but no need to go into too much detail, i do have a clue but a regulator man i'm not. Red does have to go to your battery. That is your charge wire. The black wire is the 12v Acc sense.... The purpose of that wire is tell you regulator/rectifier when to charge your battery. Without it hooked up, you can over/under charge your battery. The black wire hooks into Acc wire of the ignition switch. It will most likely be black. The 12V Acc is ONLY hot when the ignition switch is turned on. Even though the Black from the R/R ties in, the black wire from the R/R should not be tapped for power. It's a volt sense wire. ----------------------------- What 5 wire R/R are you referring to? Show me a pic of the wires/Plug pinout

It could be a bad voltage Regulator/Rectifier.
Or a worst case scenario:
Just a Guess here, but the stator is a series of strong magnets. - The Flywheel mounts onto a shaft and is secured with a high torque washer and nut.
Now, there's also a woodruff key holding the flywheel in place... But it's possible the flywheel could be slipping at high RPM's if there's damage to the mounting/securing mechanism.

NewEgg market place sent me an advertisement email and Killer Motorsports is offering a 50cc TaoTao to the door for $599.00 That's the cheapest I have ever seen for a brand new, drop shipped scooter. LINK:

Yes awesome job! If you can get the second video public and don't mind I will add them to our video library here. JR Absolutely! Without these forums, I wouldn't have been able to make the videos.... I've learned a lot from you guys so I'm making the videos to try and contribute something back.

Very Nice and very neat installation Martin, good job and thank you for putting up the Videos. Many will eat that up and follow the install. Again Thank you for taking the time and effort to Video the entire install, I know it takes time and effort to do it. Oh by the way the 2nd Video is marked as private and does not play. Alleyoop You're most welcome and Thank you for the kind words. I fixed the second video so it is no longer private and thanks for pointing that out!

Hey gang, I purchased an 11 pole stator kit from Buggydepot.com from their holiday sale. There was lot's of questions about how to install it, whether or not it was AC or DC, will the wiring mate up, etc etc.... So I decided to make a video showing just how it's done. This is a 4 part video series with each vid around 10 minutes. Removal - Part 1, Installation - Part 2, Wiring Harness - Part 3 and lastly the starting and final checks. I haven't had the opportunity to put an ammeter on their and test how much power I have available, but the lights, electrical and scooter spark draws roughly 100 watts and I'm at a steady 14.4v. If anyone has any tips or tricks I missed, please help out and contribute your advice! Anyhow, here's a link to the vids.....
