Yes, Orange/Yellow or even NEON pink, they will serve the same function. But you have to remember that we are not the only ones that read these boards... There could be a newbie that knows very little and spends a whole day looking for yellow wires and simply doesn't make the connection of different colors...

I learned very quickly on these boards to be very careful about giving definitive advice such as Pink cable on all scooters serve X function... These scooters are so different that you can take two from the same manufacturer and find all kind of differences....

When I make a reply/post, I consider who else may be reading it....

If you go back to the thread on it's the ride, you will see in post # 2 I linked to a picture of 11 pole and a 12 pole.... I tried explaining then that your only two choices are those two stators if your wanting 3 phase....

For the stators, you shouldn't need a schematic.... The only diff in the 12 and 11 is DC and AC... Your AC (11 pole) has a dedicated coil/pole for your CDI.... 

As far as the R/R, last night I went out and googled the heck out of R/R's trying to get an understanding of how the black wire works. What I have found is that wire color isn't all it's cracked up to be....

If you stick with a GY6 R/R, and show me a pic, I can tell you the pinout.... But motorcycle R/R's can be completely different.... 

Here's an example of a way to hook a R/R that is not common to the GY6 but yet, you probably could jury rig it to work.

The 5 PIN R/R you're talking about, if it's for a 700cc and not a typical GY6 R/R, it may work completely different. Wire colors can at some times be completely meaningless. I would need to see a wiring diagram or possibly I could tell from a pic, but that's iffy... I'm familiar with a few styles of GY6 125/150cc R/R's, but that's all I've explored so far. 

As far as how the black DC sense wire works, I'm not exactly sure... The wiring diagram listed it as 12v DC Acc sense wire.... The black wire monitors the voltage and/or current flow and dictates how much juice is sent to battery, exactly how it does that, I'm not sure.....

I can add this: I did start the scooter with black wire unhooked and the multi meter could not get any voltage reading... 0.00 on the black wire. Then I put the multi meter on the the battery and watched as she warmed up,... After 10~15 min, my voltage climbed to about 15Volts. I shut the scooter off, hooked the black sense wire into ignition on switch wire (in my harness it's black).. Restarted and I stayed constant at 14.4v. 

It could be a bad voltage Regulator/Rectifier.

Or a worst case scenario:

Just a Guess here, but the stator is a series of strong magnets. - The Flywheel mounts onto a shaft and is secured with a high torque washer and nut.

Now, there's also a woodruff key holding the flywheel in place... But it's possible the flywheel could be slipping at high RPM's if there's damage to the mounting/securing mechanism.
